Time to stop Obama from pushing people around. 2012 Wisc. shows we are sick of it.

Gee, swing states are not looking so good for Obama.

Florida's top elections officials are pushing back at the federal government, which says the state's review of registered voters may be discriminatory.

The Sunshine State's elections officials are saying that it's the federal government that is wrong.

The decision by the administration of Republican Gov. Rick Scott to fight back against the administration of President Barack Obama sets the stage for a legal showdown just months before the swing stage of Florida could help determine the presidential election.

Heard about this on the news this morning and I was thrilled to hear Florida is fighting back! If it is not legal for you to vote than you don't get to vote PERIOD.... regardless of your age, race, sex, religion, etc. YOU DON'T GET TO VOTE.

And this especially goes for the DEAD PEOPLE THEY ARE REMOVING FROM THE LIST OF VALID VOTERS. If you are dead... YOU DON'T GET TO VOTE.... stupid Feds!

When you have a state with a LOT of retired persons, there's nothing dumb about going over the voter registration to remove people who are DEAD.

Unless you're a Democrat and want their votes.

I received an e-mail Tuesday from US Senator Nelson (D - Fl) of a "horrifying" voter rights violation. A WWII vet, disabled, had his name on this list of ineligible voters. I still have yet to see proof of this guy at all.

I guess this guy could be one of the big o's sons, if he had had any, of course.

What a scare tactic by Nelson, and the left in general. The list is a list of POTENTIAL illegal voters, each of which will be investigated to determine if they are allowed to vote or not. If you are good to go, your name will be removed. Simple.

I responded to this affront on states rights in the reply portion to the e-mail.

Florida ain't backing down and rightfully so, literally daring the DOJ to come in and try to stop this absolutely legal, lawful endeavor.

Do your research. The state may not be backing off but the county election supervisors have all said they don't trust the states' list so they do not plan to comply with the purge.

Get back to work boy before your owners know you're screwing around.

Miami-Dade is run by a Republican. That's the only place in Florida that matters. The rest of the state is basically red anyway.

Have. Only a few Supv of Elections have said they won't do it, and they be from the leftist counties that couldn't get their votes right in the first place in 2000.

The state needs to enforce the law against them as well. On a personal level, a few days in the county lockup might wake them up.

You're a FOS Loser and full of RightWingNut talking points. :dye:

"The 67 county elections supervisors — who have final say over voter purges —are not moving forward with the purge for now because nearly all of them don’t trust the accuracy of a list of nearly 2,700 potential noncitizens identified by the state’s elections office. The U.S. Department of Justice has ordered the state to stop the purge.

“We’re just not going to do this,” said Leon County’s elections supervisor, Ion Sancho, one of the most outspoken of his peers. “I’ve talked to many of the other supervisors and they agree. The list is bad. And this is illegal.”

Gee, at least you can read the first two paragraphs. Try reading the rest of the article, and how the state determined Fl is in the right and the Feds are in error, and how the Feds have refused info requests by Fl to Homeland Security since September of last year.....

It is the federals (Holder and the left) that are not allowing information that would help the purge. They are in fact holding up lawful due process.

Earlier this year the state sent out an initial list of more than 2,600 names of suspected non-citizen voters to local election supervisors and asked them to verify the information and remove ineligible voters. So the state comes up with 2600 names they suspect as being ineligible. There might be a flaw in their methodology, but for its initial review all the have done is identify potential names to be purged.

Supervisors, however, responded by pointing out the list had errors on it. Miami-Dade officials say they have found nearly 500 voters who were citizens and other counties they too have found citizens on the list, but a smaller number of non-citizens have been verified. The list of people identified were initially identified by the state. The state asked the counties to VERIFY the people on the list and remove the ineligible names.

As I see it, this is the checks and balances of the government in action. The state didn't give their list to the counties and tell them to delete ALL the names on the list...they asked them to verify the names on the list and remove those ineligible.

As to the state's methodology, I'd suspect that this list might have been complied by one or two sources that they control, such as driver's licenses or state welfare/pension rolls.

Yea, as boy-wonder states, the election folks question the accuracy of the list. Isn't it their job to peruse the list to verify whether it's accurate? Govt that doesn't want to do their job - typical heros of the left.

It is their job to verify voter rolls, which is what the Fl legislature tasked them to do. They will, and could very easily do it, with legal help from the current administration of the WH.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/07/us/florida-vows-to-continue-its-search-for-ineligible-voters.html

The hold up/stonewalling going on from the feds - Obama's re-election handlers and his boy Holder - are purposely blocking legal attempts by Florida to obtain citizenship and criminal records of the people on the rolls to be purged. Homeland Security, no doubt under orders from girl wonder Napolatino and Holder.

Those requests were made last August and September and have not been acted on.

The worst nightmare for Democrats and elections is having voter rolls that only have legitimate, legally qualified voters on the rolls, not illegals. That in itself would lower Dem vote counts in Cook County, Il, and a number of large counties in SE Florida, at least.

Just one illegal vote taints the voting process, just as one legal voter denied the vote does.

Just get it right. This could have been taken care of long ago with a little assistance from Big Brother.

Potentially ineligible voters?
-- Can't investigate to determine who's eligible and who's not.
-- Can't purge the list to get rid of the dead, the moved, and the illegal.
-- Can't require some sort of ID to ensure only those on the list actually cast a vote.
