Try Blair's Jewelry (I think?). It was not a teddy bear but I bought my daughter a ballerina music box there a few years ago. Maybe they have other ballerina stuff (I cannot remember).

Up at Dreammakers they have dance based gifts like the ballerina bear. Depending on which recital you're going to, there is normally a vendor selling these things.

Build a Bear in Waldorf (301) 632-6022 is the only place I know.

Sorry I don't know of anyplace in St. Marys other than Hallmark Stores.

Usually just flowers. And a lot of those are pre-ordered. What part is your daughter dancing?

Awww. My daughter danced with Ballet Caliente for 8 years. We will be in the audience this evening.

this is our first year there and we love it! can't wait to see the performance tonight.

I have two dancing this weekend. I would get her flowers tonight, when they are little they like the variety ones (Giant, McKays). They seem to understand the importance of roses about 4th grade.

Tonight she will be exhausted, the performance is so different than the Pre-ballet recital. Stick with the flowers. Tomorrow she can sleep in and will have performance high at the end. Get the teddy bear then. Don't get something breakable the first year (experience shows the gift becomes part of summer dancing the first week after performance when they are little).

good idea! and that gives me some time to shop for something when she's not with me. may have the grandparents stop at dreammakers on the way down too.

If the grandparents are coming from the north, have them stop by build a bear and get her a gift certificate to build her own bear.

Hallmark usually has lots of cute stuff. That is definately an option.

Don't know how old she is but I like the ballerina jewelry box idea and you can pick those up almost anywhere (Walmart, Kmart, jewelry store, etc.). She can use it for keepsakes now and when she's older, you can get her a necklace or bracelet with ballet charms to put in it!
