Been sitting almost 15 min about a mile west of the bridge with maybe 15 feet movement. Get one car coming west about every minute or so.

Looks like they are alternating the traffic pattern one lane at a time.

Sure was. But without details of the crash, hard to say if there's any connection. But I will say I did notice, coming back across around 1030, while waiting, seems the people coming over were hammering it pretty hard, those in vehicles of the class to do so. Understandable, in a way. After being penned up at a crawl for 5-10 minutes, it's natural to want to open it up a little. But that doesnt acount for people who are then slowing to turn, or slowing for other reasons. Hmmmmmm, have all three crashes been rear end collisions? I know the one with the motorcycle was.

It was after sunset, twilight, not yet completely dark. At that time there is a wonderful view from the bridge of Solomons and looking north up-river. I was thinking that people are getting distracted and not paying attention.

this is very common. driving north over the bridge around sunset, you'll see a line of people holding their cell phones up in the windshield taking a picture of the sunset, or at the very least their heads are turned to the right looking at the sunset.

I do know the one that happened on May 2nd was I seen them on the roll back leaving the scene. I sat in traffic for hour and half for that one and then there was one I wasn't in at all and now the one with the Motorcycle that they flew the driver out I sat hour and half for that one also. I am sorry that it happened and hope all the people are ok. But my question is will it continue and is the cause the construction people. Just seems to be happening quite a bit with the new construction????:howdy:

That's my point. I don't think the construction is directly responsible, but it might be an indirect contributor. But I dont know enough details of the wrecks. I know after being artificially slowed, I like to crank it up a bit. And lots of folks do. But not everybody is going to crank their awareness up to suit. It's all conjecture at this point, of course, just discussion about what could be. And if it is, nothing the construction crew can do. Maybe a flashing light presence on either side might quell that urge til further down the road where it's less likely they will be interfered with.
