President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama attended two fundraisers in New York City last night, one with actress Sarah Jessica Parker and the other with singer Mariah Cary.
During his speech at Parker's Manhattan townhouse, Obama praised his wife for "the grace and the strength and the poise and the warmth that she has brought to an extraordinarily difficult task as First Lady."
"I'm very pleased she's here," he added, speaking to the guests who paid $40,000 each to attend. "And this is sort of our date night." Actress Meryl Streep also attended the Parker fundraiser.
