The boy, 13 years old , will be spending half the summer with his mother . I welcome any suggestions of activities that will keep him occupied during the day. He will be staying in the area of Chancellor's Run. Thank you in advance.

And a dust rag, a roll of paper towels, a vacuum cleaner, a mop and bucket, sponges and brushes, and an admonition to not stop until the sun goes down (at the earliest). After which, said kid can pursue entertainment in a formal volunteer program serving others, study the Bible or other uplifting knowledge, and practice treating elders with reverence.

Wow! You sound exactly like my stepfather. It was his belief that all children were, lazy, irreverent, disrespectful little sh!ts. If we would ask permission to go out and play, his response was " Why don't you g*d damn kids ever ask to go clean out the shed".
My son already stopped by the local fire house and asked to help out. I was looking for ideas of things he could do that was entertaining. But thanks a lot for your input.

Seems to me that I recall several different types of camps through Rec and Parks and CSM. Also, check to see if the 4H are having any type of day camps in the area.
BMX racing is at Chaptico park on Thursday evenings if he has a bike and helmet. They race one day during the weekend but I don't know exactly when.
Sorry, I can't be more help but it's been years since my kids were that young and when the youngest ones were the older ones usually had them out on the water fishing or crabbing.

Cancellor's run park has plenty of sports fields. Why not sign him up for baseball and/or soccer. Better than video games (this is coming form someone who is still slightly addicted to video games)

Unless they were raised properly, they pretty much are.
We also had to ask permission to go out and play. God help you if you went out to play and your chores weren't done.
Unless it was free, we didn't do entertainment, except for school-related (sports, ect.). And yeah, I grew up on farms and small towns in middle America. We got our first television in 1967, when I was 11. We only got it because my stepmother owned it and brought it into the marriage. Mostly, we weren't allowed to watch TV unless all the chores were done, and all the homework was done. That included vacation bible school. Some "vacation."
