IMAGINE if your boss could pin-point exactly where you are at all times through your mobile phone.
It may soon become a reality with the launch of Google’s latest spying tool.
For just $15 per employee, per month, Google Maps Coordinate will allow bosses to keep track of their employees' whereabouts when they're not in the office and send them instructions in real-time.
Employees will become moving pin-points on a Google Map that the boss can watch from the office.
The mobile app, which turns a mobile phone into a live tracking device, was launched today and is designed to "organise teams on the move". And, unless the employee turns off the device, those days of sneaking off for that long lunch will be over.

Won't make my life much different -- I've actually had colleagues knock on the restroom door and talk through it trying to convince me that I just HAD to immediately come and fix their computer because they needed it for their lesson. Lesson learned: no place is sacred!

It wouldn’t affect my life at all. Where is he? Sitting in his chair.....where is he now...again his chair.

Talk about micromanagement.
Meh.....leave your cell in your car; or better yet; even if you could live without it during the day; leave it at home. I know that last part's not really feasable these days.

I should be safe, my cell phone is so old the only thing missing is a rotary dial. It doesn't even have blue tooth, just a good old fashioned phone.

It's not an analog; looks like a field radio; phone, is it? I don't think they would even work anymore.

No it is just an old flip phone, no internet access, no blue tooth, so can't use the blue tooth hands free. It is capable of texting, but don't pay for that option so each text costs so don't use that. Works really well as aphone though for inbound calls and outbound calls, and does have voicemail. Just don't need anything more than that on my cell phone. Checked with my wife and she is guessing it is 5 -6 years old.
Back to the app they were talking about on spying on employees, the only way i could see it working would be if it was an employer provided cell phone and he was picking up the tab. I don't see how an employer could demand an employee to load an app on the employee's personal cell phone. But in this country anymore i could be wrong...
