Bay District & NAS Patuxent River Fire Departments responded to a house fire in the 20000 of Atlanta Street, around 11:20 today.

The TWITTER report from stmaryscountymd is FALSE, The dogs were taken by animal control, shortly after noon. The smaller dog was standing and walking on it's own and the older dog was breathing on it own.

God bless our hard working ALL volunteer fire fighters! We have much to be thankful for living here in So. Md, and these men and women are top on my list! Thank you for posting this!

agreed!

WTG for the neighbors for calling it in, the firefighters for rescuing the pets and putting out the fire and the EMTs for helping the pets until animal control got there. Excellent job everyone.

Thank God for those "Angels". Those poor little doggies were probably scared to death. Hope everyone is okay and sorry for the loss of the home but hope everyone, human and animal is okay.

We carry oxygen masks for pets on all our ambo's; check w/your local rescue squad & FD's to make sure they have them too..if not, this is a great way to donate to your local agency.

I've used the Pediatric Bag-Valve Mask, and pedo oxygen masks on Critters before. Probably not as good as the Pet Masks. Blow-By is good too, depending on the situation.
