Does anyone know why the Country Buffet in Waldorf closed? Sign on doors says it closed for good.

Maybe my directions aren't all that accurate but, isn't Chaptico market more or less on the way and less than half the difference? Or, is it closed, too?

Chaptico Market doesn't satisfy my need to have a bite of everything. You know how much I love a good buffet.

You didn't say Waldorf had a good buffet. You said they had good fried chicken. If you has said 'Country boofay was a good boofay, I'd have had nothing to say. However...

Country Buffet had pretty good food, the buffet area was always nice and clean. Most the time pretty quiet for a restaurant. Golden Corral, way to noisy, they had pretty good food. Some of the customers at Golden Corral would make me think twice about eating, with the women in moo moos and the men in jogging pants. I guess Country Buffet must have had some of those kind of customers, but really never noticed. It was just a different atmosphere at Country Buffet. We are going to miss it. And yes, the chicken was very good.

The country buffet in Annapolis is pretty much the opposite.
Last time I was in there I started looking around at the other people eating there, no teefs, many of them looked like they were raised near an unregulated power plant, clothing that looked like it was Salvation Army rejects,, and I thought to myself,, Have I really stooped this low in life??? Then I attacked the buffet

Now its not worth it to me to pay an all you can eat thing, anymore all I can eat is sometimes not even what the regular restaurant brings out as a appetizer

I'm philosophical about the AYCE part. Everything I eat is all I can eat and I don't ever eat more than I can eat, although occasionally I eat less than I can eat. So what I'm really paying for at a buffet is indulgence of my lack of commitment.

You know that I can single out and settle for an entree because you've seen me do it several times, but my basic nature is to want to try everything and not have to make a decision. That is worth a couple extra bucks to me so I don't have to bother everyone at my table and in the surrounding area for a bite of their dinner or a snitch of french fry.

My mom likes the OCB because she can eat several small portions and still be hot. She usuallt goes back 3 or 4 times but puts very little on her plate each time.

Its closing has put many out of work. Sad. Liked the place and knew some folks that worked there. Hope they all found other employment before they closed the doors.

I heard that their lease was up and that an agreement on a new price couldn't be reached..

Hong Kong Buffet in Leonardtown
New York Buffet in California
Bon Buffet in Lexington Park

and comming (sic) soon, a Golden Corral Buffet.

Look at that, world cuisine in our own back yard, China, NY, French (Bon is the french word for "Good") and not to far off, a western themed - heartland - cuisine.

OCB parent company had filed for bankruptcy (for the 2nd time in about 4 years) around January - I would imagine it was just catching up to low performing locations such as Waldorf.

Business would probably been better if they had a better location. It was tucked in the middle of a lot of other stores and hard to find. Buffets need to be right off a main highway to really attract customers.
