Good afternoon,

I wanted to put a quick blurb on here about the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department's Smoke Alarm Initiative. It is well documented that a working smoke alarm is your best bet in escaping a fire. With that being said, many people overlook the value of such a small piece of equipment. We all lead busy lives, and most of us only think of our smoke alarms when they go off.

If you are in need of a working smoke alarm, or new batteries, or would just like to ensure you have enough smoke alarms for your household please contact us. We will come out and install smoke alarms in your house at no cost to you. We only want to ensure the residents of the 8th Election District are safe. If you live in another district, I am sure we can point you in the right direction to be set up with your local organization.

You can find out more by visiting Bay District Volunteer Fire Department (http://www.bdvfd.org) and clicking the smoke alarm tab on the right hand side of the page. Or email smokealarm@bdvfd.org and someone will be in contact with you. Lastly, feel free to stop by either station for any assistance that you may need.

Thank you for your time and please Be Safe,
Shawn M Downs
