When you're grilling and come back to the grill only to find you've run out of propane?
So you switch the tank only to discover your backup has practically no fuel, but you use it anyway hoping you'll finish those all-day slow cooked ribs? But it doesn't, so you have to (omg...) finish them in the house in the oven?
Such a sad day.

Have been there done that and got the t shirt. Thanks for reminding me though our current tank is down to 50% and our back up tank is empty will fill it up this week. Side burner worked great for making instant coffee and tea yesterday morning with no power after the storm.

Just invented yesterday: See Here For Details (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Propane-Tank-Gauge/13350316)
There is also a similar gadget in automobiles so you know how far you can go... before you take off.

We were steaming crab legs outside on the turkey fryer when I noticed the yellow flames, shortly thereafter a steady stream of water pouring out of the bottom of the pot melted a hole in the bottom. Thank god we weren't deep frying a turkey, that would have gone up like a flame thrower.

See, now that wouldn't have happened if you had one of these...

My SIL bought me one of those a couple years ago and it works great as long as you remember to look at it, thet is why in my previous post i mentioned we were down about 50%. :buddies:

I'm pretty sure I'm first due to where you live, and I'd much rather not see your (or anyone elses) house catch on fire. Good thing it wasn't Thanksgiving. :yay:

Yikes! I didn't think that could happen. Have to keep an eye on the pot bottom.

Happen to us Saturday. I had the grilled good and hot, threw the t-bones on and about 20 seconds later I heard poof, poof, poof, poof. All the flames went out. :frown: I had to finish the steaks on the stove and the corn in the microwave. Corn was good. Steaks - the dog enjoyed 1/2 of mine. I over cooked them :cussing:

Been there, done that......unfortunately more than once! And it was always while we were cooking up some nice steaks, which hubby grills outside all year long. We finally hooked up a gas line to our grill. Now we'll never run out again. :yahoo:

I'm with ya, although I'd prefer it not completely burnt to shoe leather. Any red meat has to be well done or I won't touch it. Bloody meat = :barf:
