Why are fireworks to celebrate the 4th set when it is not the 4th of July? I was shocked when Hollywood Firehouse had theirs on June 30th and now everyone around me on Breton Bay is setting them off. We don't even get the fairgrounds anymore and now I'm wondering what we will have tomorrow night. Yes, I know most are probably illegal that I am seeing tonight but wish they had of waited since I have a bunch of little ones visiting tomorrow. Also maybe I was living under a rock since my kids are older but I don't remember hearing a lot of advertising about Hollywood being Saturday vs. tomorrow.
By the way Hi.:howdy: I know this is only my second post but I have been lurking for a while and I think I have grown a thick enough skin to survive with everyone.

Because most people have to get up early to go to work on July 5th.

:howdy: We heard fireworks in our neighborhood this past weekend, and again tonight, and I am sure again tomorrow, and maybe the rest of the week! I think the actual holiday being in mid week has sparked days and days of celebration which is a good thing!!! And, yes, thick skin is a must on this forum, but 99% of the time, it is just "all in good fun joking"! :patriot:

I didn't know Hollywood's were on the 30th either. Guess I missed them too. I live in Leonardtown and heard the fireworks tonight. Sounded like it was coming from Breton Bay. They sounded like it was a pretty big display, it went on for around 1/2 hour. I agree, it's a shame there will be none on the actual 4th in the county. It never used to be that way, we always went to fireworks and managed to get up and go to work the next day. It's not like they are going off until midnight.
Because you're surrounded by idiots.
It's a simple explanation that covers all bases.

Solomon's is tonight i believe.
The drunken a-holes two properties down will be setting them off tonight, as dry as it is though, I think this year the police will have to stop them if their fireworks start landing in my trees as would be usual.
dont need a forest fire.

Started here this morning at 7am and have been going all day. Not sure why people feel the need to waste them in the daylight. I bought a small pack of fountains and have a big sand patch in the back yard to light them. That's my extent of doing home fireworks.
