How well can you do?
Could you pass the US citizenship test? (http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/07/03/12546953-could-you-pass-the-us-citizenship-test?lite)
I for 16 out of 20 right ....80%.
When immigrants want to become Americans, they must take a civics test as part of their naturalization interview before an immigration officer. In October 2008 a new version of the test will be taken by all applicants. Could you pass it? The questions asked by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) are usually selected from a list of 100 sample questions that prospective citizens can look at ahead of the interview (though the examiner is not limited to those questions). Some are easy, some are not. We have picked some of the more difficult ones.
Good Luck!

Could you pass the US citizenship test?Hell no. History was my worst subject. Now if they based the citizenship test on math and science, I could pass that.

If the test had offered 26 as one of the possible answers, I probably would have gotten that question wrong. I tend to forget about the 27th Amendment.

I'm thinking the real test is not that easy.
US News claimed these are twenty of the more difficult questions. I have a great memory for trivia, so I also found it too easy. But most people don't care to memorize such minutiae.

Same here. Looks like we're going to have to look for a new country. Wanna go to Switzerland? Maybe I can learn to ski.
Switzerland sounds good...I love the mountains. Can we go find the one where Julie Andrews sings "The Hills are Alive". That's real pretty.
But then do we have to learn a whole new history to be citizens? I don't think we have it in us.

I have enough trouble with American History. The hills were in Austria, and yes, I've seen The Sound of Music, don't laugh. My mother was crazy about music and musicals so as kids we were exposed to culture including the playing of a musical instrument.

But they were supposed to have hiked over the mountains to Switzerland (which is apparenly on of the many dramatic licenses they took with the story. They actually rode the train out and went back at least once for an extended visit.)
