As far as the op, I think the ideas he posted are clear and most normal people (JPC is far from normal in my opinion) would agree that those views should be held true.

I think there are extreme views on the left and extreme views on the right. The problem is, the base of both parties bully the other people in their party into at least publicly supporting some of the extreme views, when usually most people would meet in the middle.

It has become more about winning than what is right. If someone to ask where I stand I'd say I'm conservative, but that doesn't really hold true when we talk about some social issues.

From what I've been told, the political term "liberal" was hijacked by "progressives". It didn't used to mean what it means today.

Instead, "liberal" was a term used to describe citizens who stood for free markets without government regulation/intrusion.
