Stephanie Miller of Sandusky Ohio cries on the shoulder of U.S. President Barack Obama at a campaign event at Washington Park in Sandusky, Ohio July 5, 2012. Miller’s sister died of cancer and said that Obama’s healthcare plan would have given her better treatment options.
A sobbing woman in Ohio thanked Barack Obama today for his record tax on American workers.
Politico reported:
An emotional Ohio voter personally thanked President Obama for passing a health care overhaul, relating the story of her late sister’s battle with cancer.
After Obama’s speech in Sandusky, he encountered a sobbing Stephanie Miller, who later told reporters about her encounter with Obama.
“I thanked him for the getting the Affordable Health Act passed,” Miller said, referring to the health care overhaul the Supreme Court upheld last week.
Miller said her sister passed away from colon cancer four years ago — partly because she could not purchase health insurance.
“Even after she was diagnosed with cancer, she was told her income was too high for Medicaid,” Miller said.

THIS right here is a reason to be concerned about Obamacare. Bells, whistles, horns, sirens should be going off saying "This is what government-run healthcare looks like; this is why Obamacare is a bad idea."

at least obamacare will bring a national ID card to everyone,
we can use it to keep the democrats from voter fraud.
Then we can get an American elected that can over throw this economy breaking foolishness that can only cause taxes and fees to go up in order to cover it.

I know "We have to pass it to see what's in it..." How can you celebrate what you don't even understand?
Don't we have an established track record here on our wonderful government?
- Social Security almost broke because of mismanagement
- Medicare and Medicaid in serious need of reforming because of fraud and mismanagement by our government.
- Welfare way over-extended and in a constant state of fraud and abuse, and requiring reforming because of mismanagement of our government
- US Postal Service going out of business because of government mismanagement.
- The IRS already an over-reaching agencie full of corruption and abuse; the tax system so convoluted that most folks don't even understand it. And now we want to add more to their responsibilites?
With the exception of our military, can you name one government-run program that you can claim success?

I never said the GOP wasn’t complicit. I said government is the problem. Currently we have a very liberal guy in the WH that had a very liberal congress his first two years and they made things worse. Do some research and take a look at spending/deficit/debt under Obama. Now we have a GOP congress that is doing virtually nothing about any of this with a dem-controlled senate that has no-less-than a dozen bills sitting on Harry Reid’s desk; Reid refuses to act on anything.

Deadly wait for cancer treatment (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-102962/Deadly-wait-cancer-treatment.html)
by TIM UTTON, Daily Mail
Thousands of cancer patients are dying as they wait for treatment, it was revealed yesterday.
The number waiting a 'dangerously long time' has doubled in two years, according to a report from the Royal College of Radiologists.
Two-thirds of people face a delay of longer than four weeks, during which time many tumours spread and become incurable.
In some cases, patients are having to wait up to eight months for radiotherapy. The Government target is for treatment to begin within four weeks of a referral by a consultant.
The study found the number of patients receiving medical attention within the target time fell from 68 per cent in 1998 to 32 per cent in 2000. Britons are less likely to survive cancer than residents of almost every other country in Europe.
Around 10,000 lives would be saved every year if cancer survival rates in the UK were brought up to the European average, according to World Health Organisation figures.
The average waiting time for radiotherapy in Britain climbed from 5.1 weeks in 1999 to six weeks last year, but there are huge regional variations.
The radiologists' report said waiting times were three months at Brighton and Hammersmith hospitals, but at another unnamed hospital one in ten patients had to wait more than eight months. Waiting times for radiotherapy were rising in every area apart from Wales and Northern Ireland.
And hospitals could become swamped by legal claims. Past cases suggest compensation must be paid if cancer patients suffer from having to wait more than six months for treatment.
Report author Dr Nick James, of Birmingham University's Institute for Cancer Studies, said he had no doubt patients were dying unnecessarily.
He added: 'The timescale matters. Patients are becoming incurable while they are waiting.
'The report shows a widespread failure to meet national targets for waiting times or guidelines, which has serious implications both for patient outcomes and for implementation of the national cancer plan.

Are you sure?
I did say, as you said, we have a GOP house and Dem senate. But, going back into a little history…
Clinton in ’97: GOP took full control of congress for the first time in 40 years
Bush ’01 – ’07: Bush and the GOP controlled everything. During this time they managed to squander any surplus that may have existed from the Clinton admin. They also managed to do nothing about oil, nothing about immigrations, nothing about spending, nothing about the looming housing crisis, got us into 2 horrendously mismanaged wars, and government expansion that stabs any bit of conservatism in the back.
Bush ’07 – ‘09: Americans got pissed and handed power over to democrats. This exposed Bush as a big spending lib and gave us TARP.
Obama ’09 – ’11: Obama, with a dem congress, had complete autonomy to do anything he wanted. He gave us stimulus and Obamacare, and amassed debt far more than any president in history. His policies are an utter failure in solving our economic problems (handed him by Bush).
Obama ’11 – Current: Obama loses partial control and nothing gets accomplished. The status quo. The believe was Americans would wake up and result in a true conservative candidate for ’13. That obviously isn’t going to happen.
So, I’m not sure where your 12 years is coming from. Democrats only controlled congress for 4 years (’07-’11). Before that the GOP controlled congress for 10 years (’97-’07). Before that democrats controlled congress for 40 years.
I think this shows that neither party is all that interested in doing what government should to instill success in Americans. Although the vision of how this gets accomplished between conservatives and liberals, there really is not different between the two parties in results. And we really should be having this discussion in terms of the different between R v. D / L v. C. Our current party framwork shows that the GOP no represents the conservative movement. Our last two nominees (McCain and Romney) is proof.

You’d do yourself a favor, if you’re going to have this discussion with me, and get off your political high horse and stop pretending that democrats somehow have nothing to do with our problems and have any meaningful answer to our problems.
I have stated over and over that Bush and the GOP are absolutely complicit in creating the environment for our current problems. They were in complete control when this all started. This isn’t about ADMITTING it; it’s about honestly recognizing it. I also HONESTLY recognize – without any sort of political bias – that democrats are also deeply in the middle of the problem and making it worse.
I am a conservative. I believe conservative ideals are the solution to our problems. I DO NOT believe either party is interested in this. You appear to be a liberal… I accept (although disagree with) that you believe liberal ideals are the solution to our problems. But we aren’t doing ourselves any favor when we simply point fingers at each other claiming one party is doing a better job than the other. Look at where we are in an honest way and see that neither party has solved the problems. Both have resulted in the same. I am not convinced that Romney will reap better results than Obama or Bush. I am not convinced that having a GOP-controlled congress will result is fixing things. As well I’m not convinced democrats are even remotely interested in fixing things.
I’m off the party train and looking for another. I’m working pretty hard to be honest with why are here with these problems. I refuse to blame democrats while ignoring where republicans are guilty. Nothing can be more idiotic than thinking that – given our current party structure – republicans or democrats have resulting in or are even interested in solving our problems.
