He had bought a gallon of 2% milk on "WIC" and did not need it.

My daughter had a similar experience at Food Lion in Leonardtown. She was getting a cart and going into the store when a white man approached her and offered her a food stamp card for $ 50.00. She said no and reported it to the manager in Food Lion.

Last week I was headed in to the Walmart when a green man approached me and tried to sell me $400 in Monopoly money for $100. He said they were going back to the old food stamps because of computer problems with the cards. Well I tell you, I called Parker Brothers right away to report it.

What I find funny is that when you try and look up Independence Card fraud, you get nothing. Not sure if the state investigates, and doesn't publicize the results, or doesn't investigate, no way to know. Which is odd, considering we know that fraud is endemic in the system. Before raising my taxes, Mr Owe Malley, why not look into how much you could save by tightening up that system?

I see children here that walk into other peoples yards, pick up what they want..tools, toys, whatever and even a cooler once. I actually reported a family member who was selling food cards for drug money. The caseworker was not interested. She informed me that they were well aware but could not and would not do anything about it. Her job was to give free money to the "unfortunate" and what they did beyond that did not concern her or her agency. I was amazed.
