Any recommendations for local short-haul movers? I need to move my mom's stuff from one assisted living home to a new one. One way from Huntingtown to St. Leonard.

Clothes, electric recliner, lamp, probably 3 medium size boxes, 3 very small chest of drawers. The recliner is heavy since it electric. I can no longer do the moving. I'll have everything boxed up and ready to go, I just need someone to help out.

The movers must be insured tho. I'm looking at any day, any time between July 27-29.

When we moved Dad, we got great movers by asking around the Nursing Home and the Veterans Home he went to. That was in Texas, but maybe you could ask around here, like the Dept of Aging? God bless you for helping your mother.

We use the guys on 235 in California, right next to the ribs place just south of the WaWa. :lol: Having a real brain fart, can't remember the name of either place. The movers do small jobs, pretty reasonable.

That's a great idea that I wouldn't have thought of.

I used Starving Students for a local move from DC to Columbia, MD about 6 years ago. They did a great job and their rates for very reasonable.
