Maybe Irene put some new procedures in place that helped THIS go 'round?

 why Irene? that was almost a year ago and not even on the same page as small storms with outages here and there?
they have always been good on outages that popup from storms.... the issue is when an event rolls thru here.... planned or not planned .... and it takes out more than half the service territory.

what about last week? :killingme
but on a serious note..... not like they have been bad on outages... what people maynot think about is what is the cause of the outage?
this will determine how long it takes to fix.

Doesn't matter what the problem is. They should be able to wave their magic wands and all the problems go *poof* just like forum threads!

nope... broken poles take a while to fix.. and longer depending on what is on it..... anything that is underground takes longer as well because you have to find where its bad.. (oh wait... cause its underground and you cant see it )... and then hope its just that one place thats bad.....
all of this i thought was C.S.!! guess not:coffee:

Most of the people I work with have Pepco or BGE... I never hear anything good from them... I gotta hand it to SMECO... The longest we've ever been out is 13 hours for Irene... other than that it's never been more than 2 or 3...
Originally I thought I would need a whole house generator backup just in case, but so far, so good... 10 years in the house and quite happy with SMECO...
