I went to the Ridge Market today to order lunch. While waiting at tocheck out the Hostess vendor stomps up to the register and starts screaming at the top of his lungs that he was going to drop that store as he had only made seven dollars for his trouble today.

He went ranting on that he was his own boss and he didnt care whether they ever received product again. He jumped in front of me in line screaming cursing and shaking his fists that he wanted his seven dollars right now. I must say that I was floored at this mans behavior.

He continued ranting, raving and cursing for a good five minutes at the three people working to the point that I was truly uncomfortable being there. He finally moves away from the register I was at while continuing to act like an absolute ass.

The manager/ possible owners wife was calm and apologetic at first but after a few minutes of the vendor making an azz of himself they quickly lost patience and told him to pack sand. Once I was able to complete my transaction I was now completely ticked off so I gave hat jackazz a piece of my mind.

I told him that in my opinion if he had an issue wih sales or whatever he should have pulled the owner or manager aside and discussed it calmly , in private and away from customers. I then went on to tell him that if he cared more about his customers that maybe he might not be wheeling out a cart of stale goods.

I have not been this ticked in months.:killingme I then informed him I was calling to report him and left as he looked at me dumbfounded as I went outside and wrote down his truck number. I then went home and called the store and got his distributors phone number from his invoice and his name and called and made a complaint.

I can only imagine if he is this volatile while working how he might act with friends and family. You would have thought he baked the name bread himself. Anyway I get he might be frustrated at the low sales but it's not like the store owners are hiding his companies produces.

Okay, rant over but just curious as to what others might have done.

You did great! The only thing I can think of that I'd have done but you didn't was to whip my neck back and forth, waggle my finger in his face and say, "Ooooh hellz no Little Debbie wouldn't show her azz like this!"

If I would do anything different, it would be calling the number right in front of him. About the time he figured out who you were talking to, then you could tell whoever was on the phone " the idiot is right here if you would like to talk to him." and hopefully, reparations could be handled even before he left... if he would be willing to make things right

I don't know for sure. I saw the guy stocking bread when I was waiting for my lunch order. If I had seen a suzy q I probably would have shoved it up his azz as he clearly needed a dose of sugar to lighten his mood.

Wow, my son would have gotten out his smart phone and taped it and post it to You Tube!
Me, I would have reported it like you did. Image if he acted out while driving?

I know one fella who lives down Reeej way.
If he was in the store when all of this was going on, he prob'ly would've asked, 'who pi**ed in your Wheaties this mornin'?'

i agree with you...they tell us all the time they return stuff they ordered and sometimes say they didnt order such and such an item. the beer delivery guys really hate going in that place but they do every week some wish they would make it so they had to physically go to there warehouses to pick up what they need so they don't have to deal with them. I for one will never shop there after the one time i bought expired icecream (it was 6yrs old) and the other they double charged me for something on sale and i pointed it out and they wouldn't give it to me so i said the ad shows it on sale and they say no its not so i gave up with them....no more shopping ridge market for me til they get new owners who actually care if food is expired and follow the sales ad and give you the price it says in the ad and not what they want to charge u that day for it.

Nope. Just reading the forum, and thought your post was quite interesting; and wanted to save it for posterity before it was deleted. You should be flattered, Lance. BTW, it's not called stalking; it's called looking for entertainment. And, I am pretty good about not missing anything.

I have no doubt that you are correct on this. I could personally care less if that company or anyone of a dozen others chose not to service that location. The store and it's location to my home makes it convenient to stop for a few items but I have learned over the years to shop in bulk once or twice a month at a larger chain store as it not only saves my family money but also cuts out hours of time I would waste in stores shopping several times per week or month.

The point of his thread was to share what was in my opinion very rude and public behavior by a vendor that could have and should have aired his grievance with the store and it's supervisor out of earshot of the stores customers.

I would feel this way in any store that I choose to shop in. I don't want to hear screaming and yelling from vendors, customers or anyone else. I know many people make light of those of us that live down here but I do believe these small business's have there place and provide a valuable service to the community. If we don't ever shop local then one day there will be no place local to shop.

Do I wish the store was the way it was years ago, of course. It makes me sad to go into local business's that have half bare shelves, broken coolers etc. I hope these places will pull through and one day thrive again but you know just as well as I do that it takes money to make money.

On a side note I stopped at the Baymart Deli before I went to Ridge Market today and the store looked like it had been robbed. The coolers are broken, there are maybe six bags of chips on the shelf, it was hotter than all get go in there and even though the Deli said it was open no one was in it. So I left there and went to RM.

Anyway back to my original point. If the vendor chooses to discontinue servicing the store it's fine by me I just don't need to be a witness to a tirade. He went about it the wrong way and I hope his company will hold him accountable for it.:buddies:

You don't. Don't think a hysterical vendor would cut it.

However if your video is really cool and goes viral...then when The Today Show, Ellen Degeneres and others call you for personal appearances. Well, its off to the bank you go. :)
