Well my house doesn't have any water shutoff valves under it. I would like to have good quarter turn shutoff valves installed and just dont feel comfortable doing it myself (copper pipe in crawlspace). Anyone have a recomendation?

Downs Plumbing and Septic should be able to do that for you, no problem. And they can turn the water off and on as needed to do the job. It is water after all, not a couple hundred volts:)

czy, you are confusing me here a little bit. If your hous has a water meter, something is telling me there has to be a shut off valve somewhere. Are you on well water or city water??? Even on well water there is normally a main water cut off valve.

City, there are no shutoff valves under the house. I would like to be able to shutoff the kitchen and still take a crap in the bathroom and flush....

its pretty easy to sweat a fitting. cut install valve, sweat. If one of the pipes has water in it still and gives a hard time with the sweating, shove some bread down the pipe, it will soak up the water and let you do your thing, and the bread will dissolve quickly leaving no problem.

Everything is difficult for my big ass when in that crawl space, dont even want to attempt something where I can burn myself or burn my house down.

If I lived closer than an hour away I would just stop in on the weekend and spend 20 minutes putting it in for you.
Im willing to bet that there are others more than able to do such a thing. A free beer (after the work is done and not leaking) is a powerful tool

I knew you would post the answer. I couldn't remember the name of them.

Good call, and if you dont mind getting a bit on the damp side, you could install it with water running in the pipe.

Shark bites, easy peasy:yeahthat: Shark bites are your friend. Need a pipe cutter and the right size Shark bites. Another name they have out is Gator bites. Even a dummy like me can do plumbing.
