President Obama met with talk show host and former Cincinnati mayor Jerry Springer before his Cincinnati town hall event, the Obama campaign confirms.

Springer served as mayor of the Ohio city for one term between 1977 and 1978He also unsuccessfully ran for Congress and Ohio governor, before transitioning to entertainment.
