Mitt Romney's Republican Problem In Wisconsin - Business Insider (http://www.businessinsider.com/romney-wisconsin-poll-republican-2012-7)
Wisconsin has become one of the most politically charged states this election season in the aftermath of the Wisconsin governor recall election.
But despite the surge in Republican enthusiasm from Gov. Scott Walker's recall election win, it has not yet shown any signs of benefitting Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. In fact, it's beginning to look like Romney might have a huge problem with Republican support in the Badger State.
A new We Ask America poll gives President Barack Obama a 7-point lead over Romney in Wisconsin, partly due to lack of support for Romney among registered Republican voters. The GOP candidate wins just 79 percent of Republicans in the state.
For Romney, this has become something of a trend in Wisconsin, where John McCain won 89 percent of the Republican vote.

I wouldn't count it out yet. A few weeks prior to the recall vote, Romney was more than 12 or more points back. Now, the RCP average is 5.
We'll see.

I would definitely count Wisconsin out for Republicans. They were spot on with the recall vote...wait a minute...

Sorry, so people didn't prove a point getting the recall vote through?
They proved that they could waste a hell of a lot of money and time for nothing.

You're a couple days late with this. The shills on other Forums (even Hunting ones) had it posted on Tuesday or Wednesday.

In January 2012, Obama had about a 6-point advantage in Wisconsin. By May, Obama had about a 12-point advantage. Since the recall election, it's held at about a 4-point advantage for Obama.See chart in middle of page, here. (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/wi/wisconsin_romney_vs_obama-1871.html)
Just for reference, Obama won Wisconsin in 2008 by a 14-point margin.
True, a 4-point disadvantage for Romney might not translate into a November victory, but it should be a reason to think that there is a chance to take it given that its not as secure in Obama's camp as it was in 2008. One could argue that the recall election is a main reason that the gap is where it's at today as opposed to where it was in May.

My 31 year old daughter has a master degree in economics and my 24 year old daugher is a semester away from her bachelors in business administration, they can pretty much smoke wherever they want (though neither of them do).

Well not really but don't worry about the facts.:coffee:
Here are the facts:
The attempt to recall Walker was an abject failure.
Walker beat Barrett by nearly 7 points; which is large on normal scales; it’s huge in a recall when you consider…
Walker is the first U.S. governor to continue in office after facing a recall election.
Voter turnout in the election was 57.8%, the highest for a gubernatorial election not on a Presidential ballot in Wisconsin history.
Why don’t you just stick to what you do best: calling people morons and rednecks? Facts don’t work well for you.

uh..slow guy.."successfull" in the case of a recall election would mean Walker was no longer governor.
What happened instead is something you are intimately familiar with: Epic fail.

You're Charlie Sheen irl, aren't you? Can you say "winning", I know you can. A drug induced psychotic episode is about the only thing that could make someone think an abject failure was a "win".

I grew up in Wisconsin. Nearly all of my hometown friends are flaming liberals. The labor union has always been a pretty strong influence there, and the Socialist/Progressive Movement has been active there for a century, which probably explains it, to some extent. I quit trying to engage my friends there in conversation when the teacher union debacle was going on and gave up when the attitude I got was "well the union was good to my dad" sort of excuses about why they'd vote for recall and vote against Walker. I'll be surprised if the state goes for Romney in November.

You mean they proved they could gather up 900,000 signatures, have a recall election and lose?
Okay! I concede. You win. Barrett lost. :yay:
You don't seem to understand that part of having a recall election is also the election? You do get that right? You do understand that Barrett lost, making the recall ELECTION unsuccessful? You do understand that Walker won the election right; and that he's still Wisconsin's governor?

They proved that the majority of the state residents don't want to fund an all expense paid lifestyle for a small vocal minority or see their tax dollars go through the money laundering scheme that's called union dues
