For almost a year, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) have plugged their jobs package at every opportunity. They regularly bring it up at press events, during floor speeches and in statements in response to just about anything related to the economy. Boehner even carries around in his jacket pocket a 4-by-8-inch card that lists off their jobs bills, and he encourages his members to flash their cards at campaign events."

It takes from the private sector which does create jobs. The less the government takes, the more the private sector will create.

Govt isn't in the role of "creating things". Of course not. It has the role of leveling the playing field, encouraging innovation, and protecting the public (these are not in any order...just as they popped into my head). In these roles, it has failed miserably over the past 15 years (spanning 3 different Presidents...this is not a R or D issue...it is a systematic failure)

The stupidity of posts like yours is that they are so simplistic and ignore the complexities of a $15 trillion modern economy managed by a representative form of govt elected by a populous that is uninformed and just wants to be spoon fed spin by the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Rachele Maddow.

De-regulation was one of the root causes of the recession we experienced 4 years ago and are still trying to recover from.

Current efforts at re-regulation are weak and have not addresses the basic issues. Why? Becuase we have a vocal minority of people like you who don't understand the problem and refuse to look at the needs of the country as a whole.

We have serious problems...problems that can be fixed. But the fixes get more and more difficult the longer we sit around and toss idiotic slogans or talking points at each other.

32 jobs bills that won't see the light of day because in the opinion of Senate Democrats - they won't create jobs. Or at least not right away.

I'd have to say, if your skill at creating jobs bills is as bad as the Senate Democrats has been, it's fair to say they have no idea how to create them or they've been listening to the wrong people. It's the St. Louis Rams claiming that some new strategy won't win games.

The "right away" comment is even more amusing. By now, NO ONE says "shovel ready" anymore. Admittedly, it was an idiotic expression as gaining a job that requires a shovel is never high on anyone's list. But those immediate jobs never materialized.

Obamacare was supposed to "create" 4 million new jobs and "400,000 almost immediately" (claimed Nancy Pelosi). Didn't happen. Actually, it has killed jobs.

So the Democrats and the economists who advise them - remember, the same ones who claimed unemployment would be down to 6% by now - say it won't create jobs? Come back when you actually show you can do it.

Of course, there is also the very simple fact and point that it is not now and never has been the job of the government to "create" jobs.

Barry and crew have proven in pretty dramatic fashion that trying to results in vast wasted sums of taxpayer dollars and epic failure.

Why would anyone want more proof than we already have in hand??

We don't NEED JOBS.

We need a sound, strong dollar so that when you've saved, invested well, it's value is protected. We also need a sane immigration policy. It is absurd for Americans to be handed unemployment checks while illegals bust their ass working.

Jobs as the be all, end all, is no more intelligent, or effective, that a weak dollar and inflation being the cure to too much government.
