William, Paul and James Newland and their sister, Christine Ketterhagen, who together own Hercules Industries, have no right to conduct their family business in a manner that comports with their Catholic faith.
The federal government can and will compel them to either surrender their business or to engage in activities the Catholic faith teaches are intrinsically immoral.
This is exactly what President Barack Obama's Justice Department told a U.S. district court in a formal filing last week.
Never before has an administration taken such a bold step to strip Americans of the freedom of conscience — a right for which, over the centuries, many Christian martyrs have laid down their lives, and which our Founding Fathers took great care to protect in a First Amendment that expressly guarantees the free exercise of religion.

C Francis Habeck
“..As the Founders understood, no government has legitimate authority to take this right away, because it does not come from government. It comes from God…”
This statement is correct but irrelevant.
The federal government is now more boldly exercising the authority we, through our ancestors, gave it, albeit unknowingly and unwittingly.
Please read this and THINK!!!! English can be a precise or vague language. This attribute is being used against us. We all ASSUME the meanings of words we hear and read but that meaning is not necessarily correct.
We, the people (NOT We the People), have been converted into chattel of the federal government. This occurred due to the so-called 14th amendment. This created a federal citizen that has only those privileges that Congress ALLOWS.
The Constitution does grant the power to do whatever it wants with its
property. If you do not believe this, read “A Patriot’s Thoughts” on C. Francis Habeck's face book or mail me at patriot1789 at hot mail; for a copy. Most of you will not because you simply love to complain but do not want to know the truth.
Note:
"Privileges and immunities clause of Fourteenth Amendment protects only those rights peculiar to being citizen of federal government; it does not protect those rights which relate to state citizenship." Jones v. Temmer, Federal Supplement, Vol. 829, Page 1227 (1993)
"We have cited these cases for the purpose of showing that the privileges and immunities of citizens of the United States do not necessarily include all the rights protected by the first eight amendments to the Federal Constitution against the powers of the Federal government. They were decided subsequently to the adoption of the Fourteenth Amendment..." Maxwell v. Dow, 176 US 598 (1900)
PLEASE NOTE: The term "citizens of the United States" as used here can NOT be the same "citizens of the United States" used in the Original Constitution since those "citizens of the United States" did " include all the rights protected by the first eight amendments to the Federal Constitution against the powers of the Federal government." Or else for whom were the "Bill of Rights" written to protect?
Interested in reading further or content to live in ignorance? Mail patriot1789 at hot mail for a copy of “A Patriot’s Thoughts” to gain insight into the real problem. Most of you won’t, you just like to complain and joust at windmills.

Catholics 1, Obama 0 – Ct exempts company from contraceptive regs (copy of opinion)
Via Fox News (http://legalinsurrection.com/2012/07/catholics-1-obama-0-ct-exempts-company-from-contraceptive-regs/):
The Catholic family that owns a Colorado-based company won a court victory in their battle to stop the Obama administration from requiring them to provide insurance coverage for abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization and contraception, a mandate they say violates their religious beliefs and First Amendment rights.
Hercules Industries, a Denver-based heating ventilation and air conditioning manufacturer that employs nearly 300 full-time workers, got an injunction in federal court which stops enforcement of the controversial ObamaCare mandate. The company’s lawyers said they needed the injunction immediately because if the mandate is enforced, it must begin immediately making changes to its health plan, which renews on Nov. 1.
The case is similar to ones brought by Catholic-based colleges that have refused to provide employee insurance with such coverage, except this time, it is a secular corporation.
In his order, Colorado District Judge John Kane said that the government’s arguments “are countered, and indeed outweighed, by the public interest in the free exercise of religion.”
