Is anyone else having issues with there internet and phone? I have tried calling the 800 number but I just get a busy signal. My cable is working fine though. I have reset everything but it's still a no go:(

Yep. Same here. My TV is working but some of the channels are offline. It says This channel will be available shorty. Ref Code S0a00
My Galaxy S3 is acting as a backup WiFi until Metrocast is back online. The 4G LTE is just as fast as the cable.

I have a friend who takes online classes and needs to submit a project tonight. Does anyone know how widespread the Internet outage is? Or do you happen to know of a place it hasn't affected? TIA

I'd suggest a laptop and a trip to somewhere with wireless internet.
Most Starbucks and some McDonald's restaurants offer free wi-fi.

I thought about that but most of those places use Metrocast as their provider. If our net is down, chances are theirs are too. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I have had issues with certian channels for a few weeks now.
Some have momentary freezes, others just won't come on at all. Here I thought it was my box.

This is the first major Metrocast outage I've experienced in a long time. While it sucks right now, I must say that my service has been extremely stable over the last six years that I've been in my current house. In fact, this is the longest outage I've experienced in six years. I am finding that it's nice to be able to use my phone as a back up connection.

I have only encountered a couple of stations "frozen", but I haven't done a complete run-through of the stations. My internet is Verizon, so I don't have that problem.

So glad I was standing in town with my hardcore character when the connection dropped!
Yea! Metrocast back up around 4AM.:yahoo:

I would agree with you on this. I have been very pleased with Metrocast internet service for the 5+ years I have had it.
BTW, it is not the end of the world to lose an internet connection for a couple of hours. I actually sat on the front porch last night as the storms rolled through - something I have not done in a long while and something I would not have done if I had an internet connection. I need to step away from the computer more!

And that includes all the hurricanes/storms we've had.

Interesting. I was on hold for 56 minutes & when I got to speak to someone they told me there was a fire.

It really must be a case by case basis. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count how many times in 4 years my internet has been down for multiple days.
On another note, I understand all cable has to go back to satellite somewhere, but the fact I have not yet lost signal on directTV with my little dish on top of my house and yet there were a handful of times that I would lose metrocast signal is a bit ridiculous.

I think there are areas where they have cable/equipment issues.

Most of the issue that I have had for weeks is gone. Certian channels would be jerky and the sound would cut out, someitmes for seconds, also certian other channels did not want to come up on the box now they all come up and there is just an occasional blip.

Whereabouts, in generic terms, are you? I have used them since I think 2000, and multiple day outages have numbered less than one hand. Now for most of that time, I lived right on Chancellors Run, and that has something to do with it, I think. New house, over a year, and there have been two instances, neither lasting more than a couple hours.
