Sure, if you like enough salt in your diet to make the Dead Sea seem like fresh water.

They have fun table games and relaxing rocking chairs. Or, did you mean the food?

Their hash brown casserole is good, but everything else.....not so much.

But even their hash brown casserole recipe can be found easily on the web, so it's simple to make it at home.

I like it, mostly for the side dishes, but they have very good breakfast things also.

I really hope their grits measure up. I told the giant I'd like to go out and get some grits and not have to make them myself. He replied, just because they serve them doesn't mean they know how to make them. He has a point. :ohwell:

Just another in the long line of "grand opening" eating establishments in this area. It will be packed with SOMD's finest who never eat at home and seek comfort in, well.... comfort food.

When that place opens it will be packed more than a DC welfare office with Obama outside holding a checkbook!

What is it with food snobs, if you don't like to eat out, don't. I would rather not have to wait in line behind someone who isn't going to enjoy it anyways.

Give me the small, local eateries any day.

I never thought to rate chain food. It's all the same, no matter where you go.

Not necessarily. St. Mary's County has a way of ruining any chain. I'm sure it'll be crappy in a year.

You say that like it's a bad thing... some folks like the dependability knowing they will like what they order.

I get that too. I know of someone who's favorite restaurant is Red Robin. Although, I do eat at the chains on occassion, I guess I am a bit of a food snob when I want a nicer meal. Something outside of the box.

Even girl, who was so excited that Crackle Barrel (her words) was opening, shot down an invite to go yesterday. We opted for pizza instead.

That's because it all comes out of a bag and they just warm it in the microwave. Kind of like at 7-11 when you get a frozen burrito. Why people pay good money to eat that crap instead of just nuking a Totino pizza at home, I'll never know.

Oh please. People who eat at chain restaurants pile the kids and spousal unit into the grocery-getter and eat burgers or grilled chicken - same food and people as every other night. That's why they call them "family" restaurants. The only reason they go out is because they either don't want to cook or they forgot to thaw out the pound of ground for their Hamburger Helper.

Wait! I think I'm on a rant!

Mig posted awhile back that she doesn't order in restaurants what she can make at home - meatloaf, I believe, was the offending dish. Since I can cook most anything a restaurant has on the menu, I like to eat at places with atmosphere as Ginwoman said. I also like to eat at places where they actually prepare the food as opposed to opening a can or bag and warming it up like so much chicken a la king.

I like a water view. I like drinks on the deck. I like specials of the day. I like unique menu offerings. You cannot get any of that at a chain restaurant, and therefore I hate them.

Decent restaurants do not offer coupons. :sniff:

I also do not like restaurants that take a chicken breast, grill the living #### out of it, melt some Pepper Jack and sprinkle it with dried herbs, throw it on top of some soggy tasteless noodles, then act like it's some culinary achievement.

Oh, and I REALLY hate "vegetable medley" with liquified zucchini and yellow squash. Hate hate hate!

Oh please yourself; I'm talking about the staff. I don't go there to talk to the patrons unless Libby or Jennifer show up. I'm not concerned with those "family folks" unless they have little screamers with them :burning:
