Good evening all;
My wife has finally received word that she is cleared to take the job at Pax River, which she starts on 27 August.
We're going to do a reconnoiter for a few days (driving out from here on the 21st and 22nd to a friend's place in Rising Sun), look for a place for her to stay until the cats and I can join her for good in September. I'll be flying back west on the 26th.
Any recommendations for a 1 bedroom for a short term?

Good evening;
My wife starts her new job at Pax River on Monday and we'll be in Rising Sun on Thursday, Lexington Park on Friday (we're driving a day later than planned, my Vibe died, but it was only a $75 fix).
In preparation, we pre-qualifed for a loan, which the bank tells us is not contingent on selling the house here in Illinois and is half again larger than what we had planned to spend. Luckily my wife has her VA loan benefit, so we won't need a down payment.
Her new boss has offered to help with housing info and moving arrangements. We have a realtor lined up through USAA, who has sent us over a dozen listings in our price range. One house I like is in the area near Chancellor's Run State Park.
We are very under-prepared as the background check took longer than expected, which has been part of the delay.
It will be an interesting change, to say the least.
Looking forward!

I guess someone should give them the Jennifer warning.

The park there is actually a county park, but anyway....... Some folks think that Chancellors near the park is a crime drama waiting to happen, but I lived close enough I could hear the games, and see that house, for 10 years and never had an issue. Almost never locked the doors, and never locked the cars.
When I was looking, I used Zillow quite often.

I agree it has been great living here. I can walk out my back yard and fish everyday after work.
