Why are AT&T and Verizon HATING on Apple? (http://wallstcheatsheet.com/stocks/why-are-att-and-verizon-hating-on-apple.html/)
BGR said this morning that AT&T employees were being instructed to push Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows Phone and Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android smartphones over iPhones to customers. The report added that even employees were being forbidden from buying an iPhone as a company-owned device. Designer and blogger Jeff Stern then followed up by writing in a blog post that he was actively discouraged from buying an iPhone 4S by a Verizon store representative, who told him that Apple’s servers were not equipped to handle the voice-assistant Siri and that it was hard to find applications.
Verizon said in a statement that Stern’s experience was not in keeping with standards and was “being investigated.”
Our “representatives are trained to help customers choose the device that best meets their needs,” the wireless operator said in the statement. “We take great pride in offering a robust portfolio of devices that give customers options that range from the most sophisticated smartphones to the most basic handsets. Our only goal is for customers to leave the store with the phone that gives them the best wireless experience.”
