How many have opened and closed just in the old Perkins location in Wildwood?
How many reincarnations of "Evans Seafood" since the Evans family sold it?
Or the old "Bay Cargo" or whatever it started out and all the failed attemtps at that location? (now, mercifully, an Autozone..)

Let's face it.....if we want anything other than Mickey D's or Domino's; the first two to come to mind; we're gonna have to go out of the county.

Their closing was a real bummer..not only because I've been going there for decades, but also because I keep the cruiser at Spring Cove every once in a while and now its a real hike to get to a restaurant.
I'm surprised that nobody has picked up the challenge to re-open that place. Sign of the times, I guess...I know I sure wouldn't try it.

How many have opened and closed just in the old Perkins location in Wildwood?
Several
There was a southwestern place in San Soucci - Baja or something like that.
I believe ti was owned by the same people who ran Broome Howard for a while (now gone btw).
Same questin would apply to the restuarants that are in the Wildewood retirement village - Tavern, La Tabala, ?
Looks like Mom and Pops Pizza is gone
There was a chinese restuarant where Monterey is now.
But the restuarant business is tough, it's hard work and low margin.
Because of location, I would guess getting fresh ingredients is tough as well. I remember talking to the IGA manager about his problems getting truckers to deliver. Not enough volume to warrant a one way trip.
Fast Food and other chain restuarants don't have that problem, most of the food comes prepackaged / frozen. The corporation manages the shipping and there is economy in mubers i.e. this Olive Garden is one of dozens in Maryland alone.

O Rick is reopend as Grid Iron Grill but nothing seems to have lived long there.
Actually..Rick helped the owner, Greg, start up Grid Iron but now Rick is head honcho at the restaurant in Chiefs, Tall Timbers. That move happened some time ago, in fact.
Grid Iron is still going..and Chief's restaurant is doing well..as is the Reluctant Navigator at Tall Timbers Marina. Seems the Piney Point Rd corridor restuarants are treading water at least.
And speaking of Piney Point Rd... *newsflash*: the old Knott's Kitchen (then Pat's Seafood after that) is re-opening apparently..not sure what as yet though. Looks like remodeling is almost complete...

Pretty sure it is still there though ownership has changed hands at least 3 times. I remember at one time they also had one up in Dunkirk, but that is long gone. Knew the original owner pretty well, Walt he went to work at the
Nuke plant. My sil worked up there for a while at the Huntingtown one. Believe it or not they used to have the best chicken wings. IMHO

San Souci had an Italian place. It was something like Sardo's or Sarinellis.
The place in St. Mary's square that was a lot of different places including a stint as a watering hole called Skool Daze.
That big white house in L'town, not far from the square. Interesting place, but it wasn't around too long. It was more high end type dining.
There was an Indian place after Northridge closed. They had a nice lunch buffet. The butter chicken was pretty good.
It was something or other bistro at one time also.

When you say "That big white house in L'town", are you referring to the Sterling House, which is now the Front Porch? Isn't that still open?
I was there about a month ago- couldn't get a cold bottled beer to save my life. Manager asked how we were doing, I told him nicely about it and he brought me another slightly colder beer. Good Manager would have comp'ed it in my opinion. I'm not looking for free stuff but just some thing I think should have been done is all.
They were out of Crown Royal and a few of the appetizers as well. Kind of odd for a 6PM Friday night outing.
I think I just have bad luck. I went to Saphron downtown PF because of recommendations on SOMD.com and it was so-so as well. The fried chicken was awesome!
I know- must be me- but it is not, I swear. 8 people at Front Porch and 12 of us at Saphron and we all said the same thing. I caught the brunt of it because both places were my ideas.
Winners have been Jerry's Place and The Ruddy Duck.

Being out of some things is not surprising at a local, non chain, restaurant. When you're using fresh, local ingredients, if it's not available or if you question the quality would you want to serve it? Remember this is your reputation on the line. As far as the liquor, I got nothing.

Add St Jame's Pub to this list.

Valid point and I don't remember what it was but it was some thing I think would have been frozen. Out of local oysters, understandable. Out of frozen cocktail shrimp, not so much. Was glad we went none the less, cool house!

I've been to Ruby Tuesday when they have been out of something like lemons and I'm thinking, you are out of lemons and there is a Giant across the parking lot with a bin full of lemons....
