“This is a willful and deliberate misrepresentation. It is compounded by the fact that it originates from the campaign of an assistant states’ attorney, an officer of the court, who is obviously in a position to know the real truth.”
Yikes. If he can't be impartial and he can't tell the truth...

But we're not talking about a political office. These guys are running to be our judge for the next 15 years. It sounds like they have some pretty hefty rules they have to follow, and Stanalonis thinks they don't apply to him. To enforce the law, shouldn't you have to follow the law? Maybe I'm just being naive.

I saw nothing in this article out of the ordinary for someone running for PUBLIC (not political) office. Stanalonis still has my vote.

So far Densford hasn't been doing that.

Do you have the records showing Denford's sentencing history? I tried the MD Judicial Search but it doesn't seem to allow searches based on the judges name. If you have another way of showing the sentencing history of a particular judge, please posted it.

I know people who work in the system and they, by and large, are frustrated with Densford. Plus the FOP supports Stanalonis, and that's good enough for me.
Densford tries to highlight the fact that he was a successful defense attorney for years and years. That is a negative when it comes to a judge, not a positive.
This also bothers me:

The two largest single contributions to the candidates in St. Mary’s judgeship race reported last week were from a pair of political committees, including thousands of dollars to Joseph M. Stanalonis from a local police association and to David W. Densford from a group in Prince George’s County
Stanalonis = supported by local law enforcement.

So, there isn't any actaul data available that shows a judge's sentencing history. At least not without digging through all of the Circiut Court records since February. I guess we're stuck with the rumor mill.

How is an FOP endorsement a "rumor"? And how is documented reporting that Densford received his biggest financial support from PG County a "rumor"? He was a very high-profile defense attorney and that is a fact, not a "rumor".

Sure there is. Go to the MD casesearch website. Look at cases within a certain timeframe. Check to see who served as judge. See how many idiots he's let out time and time again with little to no jail time. I know firsthand just how many repeat offenders he's let out. I've seen the proof. Go to the newspage of this website and check the police blotters. Search the name on the MD casesearch website and see which judge let them out. It really is just that easy. Is it a PITA, yes. Is it worth it to find out which candidate to vote for, yes.
There is a reason that FOP backs Stanalonis. The cops do their job to put the criminals in jail. Idiot judge lets them out. They want someone who will not waste the effort that they put in to serve this community. :yay:

Forget what the people who made the report say. Look at his responses. His words, no one else's "spin." That's what you do when you don't have a legitimate defense-- attack the people who made the complaint, attack the people investigating the complaint, anything to detract from the fact that you screwed up.
I just can't bring myself to vote for someone who has that little regard for the truth. If he doesn't care about the truth now as a candidate to be judge, why would he start caring about it when he becomes a judge? This guy is going to get our county sued just like his boss did, and that money is going to come from the taxpayers. I think the sheriff's office is doing a great job too, and I don't want to see all their hard work go for nothing once this guy gets on the bench and all his decisions start getting contested because he can't even pretend to be impartial.

How can they be frustrated with Densford? Christ, the guy just got on the bench a few months ago and even then, he was basically a "Judge in Learning" by having to sit in on cases with another Judge, just as all new Judges must do. Why is being a successful defense attorney a negative? If you are successful at your job, it tells me you have a very good understanding of that job, which in this case, a mastering of the law.
