"What America is not [is] a collective where we all work in a kibbutz," Romney said at a fundraiser at a downtown Chicago restaurant. "Instead it's individuals pursuing their dreams and building successful enterprises which employ others and they become inspired as they see what has happened in the place they work and go off and start their own enterprises."

It was an odd comment for Romney, especially considering that he argued that Israel's culture made the difference in its economic success. Kibbutzim, or collective farms, were essential building blocks in making Jewish settlements in Palestine and ultimately made the creation and growth of the state of Israel even possible."

Since government hasn't built roads and other infrastructure in the settlements, they have to collectively build it themselves. Later, when they build their own businesses, the government can tell the settlers, "You didn't build that!"

Like Solyndra, Abound Solar, Nevada Geothermal Power, Beacon Power, Amonix, Inc. and many others couldn't function without government intervention? They wouldn't exist without taxpayer bucks!

Of course, they didn't build it! They just bundled campaign donations for Obama and got repaid with tax dollars to create phony companies.

Israeli taxpayer funds in the form of grants went to settlers, but who did the actual work? Those settlers work hard and are extremely frugal, unlike American fat-cat donors to Obama.
