Gay Activists‘ ’National Marriage Equality Day’ at Starbucks Has Low Turnout (http://www.theblaze.com/stories/gay-activists-national-marriage-equality-day-at-starbucks-has-low-turnout/)

Following the massive hoopla surrounding fast-food chain Chick-fil-A over its gay marriage stance last week, pro-same-sex marriage activists hoped to show support for Starbucks, a company that has come out in favor of gay rights. But, unfortunately for those organizing the “National Marriage Equality Day” on Tuesday, turnout was relatively low — at least when compared to the number of Americans who came out to laud Chick-fil-A just days earlier.

Prior to the event, The Christian Post explained the intentions behind the initiative:

Gay marriage activists and their supporters plan to consume more than their daily allowance of caffeine on Tuesday by visiting their local Starbucks in an effort to challenge last week’s “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” that was staged by pro-family supporters to demonstrate their support for the company’s stance on traditional marriage.

Tuesday’s event is being dubbed as “National Marriage Equality Day” and Starbucks was chosen because they offer benefits to the partners of same-sex relationships.

Wonder if they did like the North Koreans military parades? Just kept running around the block so it looked like more people were coming in.... or running from one starbucks to another and back again?...

Good thing they had extra caffeine!

Anyway... good for them for showing support... :buddies:

An online magazine called Equally Wed led this event. They weren't very well prepared, did very little advertising and the event was a flop. This article sums the event up nicely.

What ‘National Marriage Equality Day’?

My concern is that this probably well-intentioned effort could be misused and misrepresented by the Religious Right and right-wing media to make us look feckless. Hopefully, next time someone decides to rename a day and act as if they represent the entire LGBT community, they might do some preparation first before alerting the media. These days, the whole world really is watching – including every move we make. What National Equality Day?

I wish they would do this someplace I actually went to, so that my not going on that day would actually have some meaning.

But, here is what I find amusing.
They cant think for themselves.
They have always boycotted and (its never actually had an impact) thought they were doing something.

the the Moral crowd came out and instead of a boycott they showed support for someone they agreed with.
so the gay troops decided to try the same.

Now, here is what I see.
Their boycotts are pretty much useless because their numbers dont actually amount to enough to cause a financial problem.. maybe if the boycotted K-Y or something..
Their show of support is pretty much usless because their numbers dont actually amount to anything.

perhaps they should go back into hiding before they piss too many moral people off and lose everything they already have.
