Rich Lowry exposes Rachel Maddow’s hypocrisy over Obama’s $700 billion in Medicare cuts

Newsbusters (http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2012/08/12/national-reviews-rich-lowry-destroys-msnbcs-rachel-maddow-meet-press) caught this earlier today and it showcases Maddow dodging heavily to avoid answering a question that would have killed her argument completely:

Apparently Maddow complained about it later on twitter:

Ah, a Drudge link. Welcome, 3-day onslaught of ALL CAPS swearing misspelled tweets & emails informing me that I am gay.

— Rachel Maddow MSNBC (@maddow) August 12, 2012

To which Noel Sheppard (http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2012/08/12/maddow-nb-piece-linked-drudge-welcome-3-day-onslaught-emails-informin) replied:

Well, maybe if she had answered Lowry’s simple question concerning whether or not she supports the $700 billion of Medicare cuts in ObamaCare she could look forward to praise for her appearance.

Instead, by ducking the issue she exposed herself as a Democrat shill with no business anchoring a television show on a so-called “news network.”

Rich Lowry has since written a short post at NRO (http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/313773/medicare-rachel-maddow-cant-handle-truth-rich-lowry) saying that he’s been accused of sexism by Maddow fans:

I was on Meet the Press this morning and was astonished that my fellow panelist Rachel Maddow couldn’t say whether or not she supports the Obama Medicare cuts. You can read about and see part of the exchange here. You’ll notice me — I’m the one asking her insistently to answer the question. She even tried to say that she’s not running for anything so she couldn’t answer, even though she has an hour-long nightly TV program devoted to telling us what she thinks. On Twitter, some Maddow partisans are — of course — accusing me of sexism. Please. Rachel always comes to play and she’d be just as tough on someone dancing away from a very basic question.[clip]

Right, because we really needed Rich Lowrey for this.

This is a great example of only seeing what you want. Lowrey had her and then sat there like a yapping kid repeating the same thing over and over and over. He let her off the hook.

I wish someone would go on Twitter and instead of accusing Maddow of being gay - just ask her what is so wrong with being gay.

I will die a happy man if I never use Twitter. Every time I hear of 'so and so said on Twitter..." I hear school girls saying "Did you know so and so farted...!"

I don't see what draws people in. It's basically a chat room with a celebrity host. And most of it is of the "I'm eating a sandwich" crap that some users of Facebook use.

Still, I'd like to see someone kick her ass over her complaints about being called gay.

I think Meet the Press would be a great place for someone to ask her that very thing. It's like the race card; it's not as kewl as it used to be.

"Rachel, being gay is not the reason you are making a dumb argument..."

Twitter has evolved into so much more ....

.... Sure Will Weaton - tweets the beer he is drinking or Jeri Ryan tweets about her latest TV show ....

but conservatives have grabbed hold of twitter and bent it to their will as a way to communicate stories beyond the Lame Stream Media .....

look at the Olympics in London, NBC getting all pissy because people were tweeting the results .......

if you are following morons on twitter you only have yourself to blame for the content ....

If you say so. I'm not following anyone on Twitter because I consider the whole thing moronic. The msm got all upset when Drudge changed the game and started single sourcing, as opposed to the traditional and accepted two source minimum. Now, with Twitter, you don't even get a cursory bit of homework. It's like hearing people burp and fart as opposed to think and then comment.
