"Last week, Mitt Romney picked Paul Ryan, the Republican architect of Congress's radical right-wing budget plan, as his running mate. Ryan has previously cited Rage Against the Machine as one of his favorite bands. Rage guitarist Tom Morello responds in this exclusive op-ed.
Paul Ryan's love of Rage Against the Machine is amusing, because he is the embodiment of the machine that our music has been raging against for two decades. Charles Manson loved the Beatles but didn't understand them. Governor Chris Christie loves Bruce Springsteen but doesn't understand him. And Paul Ryan is clueless about his favorite band, Rage Against the Machine.
Ryan claims that he likes Rage's sound, but not the lyrics. Well, I don't care for Paul Ryan's sound or his lyrics. He can like whatever bands he wants, but his guiding vision of shifting revenue more radically to the one percent is antithetical to the message of Rage.
I wonder what Ryan's favorite Rage song is? Is it the one where we condemn the genocide of Native Americans? The one lambasting American imperialism? Our cover of "#### the Police"? Or is it the one where we call on the people to seize the means of production? So many excellent choices to jam out to at Young Republican meetings!
Don't mistake me, I clearly see that Ryan has a whole lotta "rage" in him: A rage against women, a rage against immigrants, a rage against workers, a rage against gays, a rage against the poor, a rage against the environment.
Basically the only thing he's not raging against is the privileged elite he's groveling in front of for campaign contributions. "
Nothing to see here, just one half breed kenyan asswipe socialist sticking up for another half breed kenyan asswipe socialist
Move along.

Your question supposes that his stupidity is not a permanent condition, thereby rendering the ability to detect any "change" quite impossible.

Come on, you guys had to admit it is funny that one of Ryan's favorite bands is Rage. Anybody who has ever heard any of their stuff knows immediately that they are anti"the man" or antiestablishment.

The Beatles turned out to be a bunch of socialist twits, and they still had a large following in what was the United States of America. I never really liked them, but it had nothing to do with their hidden messages in their songs.
as a matter of fact, the biggest commie song that Lennon sang was actually my favorite . "Imagine"

There is no hidden message in the rage songs. It's out there in the open.

It is ironic that ryan is a fan of a band who made a living out of "**** the government" type songs.

TAKE THE POWER BACK LYRICS - RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE (http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/Take-The-Power-Back-lyrics-Rage-Against-The-Machine/DE6609124E5595C9482568A50012A47D)

What I find funny is that this "Rage" moron is spewing the big government talking points. His quote clearly shows his support for things like big labor, EPA, welfare, etc.
Which one is funnier - the guy that likes the music but not the ideas, or the guy that performs the anti-establishment music while kissing up to the establishment?

The performer that trashes the establishment but still wallows in the financial benefit of it?

What financial benifits would those be?
As for funnier, I'd say it's the guy who dedicated his life to becoming "the man" but says he likes rage against the machine has to be the choice.

Of course, because you are nothing but a partisan hack. You can't look at the blatant hypocrisy of the guitarist because he is supporting your big government favorite.

Yep, about what I would expect for you guys, straight to name calling and being dismissive :bigwhoop:

You are hilarious, you ask me which I found funnier and when my opinion is different then yours, you start calling names. All over which of the two is more ironic. But please, keep up the names :killingme
