He says he did that.

I have noticed it goes down when it rains. Well, I guess that isn't a very good observation either.

I sometimes have that problem when the weather is bad. I have to shut everything down, all the way down to the power strip, and when I turn everything back on I reset the IP. Always works unless the cable is actually out.

Run
winipcfg

choose ethernet adapter
release all
reset all

Yes, I have. I ask them if the cable is out in my area. If they say it is, I blow off the computer. If they say it isn't, I shut everything down and start over. What's the big deal?

I suppose we have called them for different reasons... I am blown away by the rudness and stupidity factor.

:howdy: I am just getting back in. I had my most embarrassing moment ever in my entire life, happen tonight. I’m in a brand new building and of course, they are working out kinks. For example, the construction crew that built the building has all kinds of trash down in the pipes, so the toilets are overflowing left and right in the dorm. Well, I went to flush the toilet and water squirted out everywhere, all over the wall, all over the floor, and all over me. I grabbed a towel, grabbed my keys, and went down the hall to search for a plunger. I found some guy walking around the hall and asked him if he knew where I could find a toilet plunger. He kindly helps me look in all the closets, opening them up with keys. :twitch: This guy has keys, he must be important I think to myself. Well, he decides to pick up his cell phone and call the service tech. out. Now I’m thinking  this guy has keys, has a cell phone with the service tech.’s number in it, he must be REALLY important. I thanked him and he informed me to wait for a knock on the door, and that he will check back with me in the morning to see how everything went. The service tech comes in and fixes the problem, then LHFAO saying “girl you will never live this down” What do you mean I asked? He said “You asked the head director for a toilet plunger.” :blushing: He said, he just might ask you how that toilet is working when he comes and introduces himself to the class tomorrow. :dork:

And yes, he LHFAO all the way down the hall.

I haven't had any gmp problems that I'm aware of; any problems I had were b/c of switching equipment (router, modem, cables), etc. around I think, and I had to wait for a couple hours till the IP reset itself (doing release/reset wouldn't work). Overall, I love the cable (had far more outages with DirecWay when it'd cloud up or storm), but in terms of customer service/tech support returning phone calls, they suck. :ohwell: Well, with the exception of one particular 'hot mama's' hubby, they suck. He's the one good guy they have employed at GMP. :yay::yay:

Anyone live near Hickory Hills on Chancelors Run Road? I'm just curious if I'm the only one who's cable internet is still down after two days.

Its sad when you have memorized their number (3013733201)... Im not stupid with computer.... I know everything their techsupport has to lookup online to help me so i skip techsupport and call their office most of the time...

Simple solution that USUALY works... Remove all the cords from your cable modem at the same time... wait a minute and hook it back up, if that doesnt work try rebooting your machine... if that doesnt work give that number a ring

I did all the crap with unplugging the modem for a minute and pushing the reset button for 20 sec, but I don't know what good playing with my computer will do when the link light on the modem is flashing. No link, no connection. You don't even need to have your computer connected to the modem to know it isn't going to work.

I ended up calling GMP on thursday after three days with no connection. Took me about 10 calls to not get a busy signal, then a good 30 minutes listening to hold music before I got someone. They did tell me that the internet was out in my area, but would give me no hint as too when it will be back.
