I have to share something that I did yesterday:
Lately, I've been noticing my PC running slower and slower; it's not a Dell or a Gateway or a mega-dollar machine, in fact it's an HP Pavilion, 1.4 gigahertz
AMD processor, loaded with 512 megs of PC133 DDRam( which I upgraded myself from 128megs), and has an Nvidia video card, and not much else that I would call "supergrade" innards.
I ran across an Adaware offer, and a friend of mine at work recommended it, so I installed it. It didn't seem to help that much, although it was trapping some spyware data miners.
Yesterday, I saw another promotion for a product called Spybot. I'd heard about it, but didn't do much with it. This time I did, I installed it, and further downloaded the latest upgrades, and turned it loose on my PC. I told it to "search and destoy" any spyware programs I didn't need on my machine, and wow! It found 7 more sneaky little bastages Adaware did not!
My machine is now running a heck of a lot faster that it did yesterday morning
so I'd recommend it to anyone who has seen their PC slowing down.
It seems these spy programs use a lot of bandwith in their use, thereby slowing down you computers' operations.
Now go get 'em!
