Other than TWL Wife's Tigger forum, how does one make the cut to get membership in the private forums (besides groveling)? It appears that simply asking for membership doesn't work.

I would do that (and probably will someday), but right now I can't afford it.

So are you saying that all the current private forums are closed to new members?

I can only speak for my forum, and the answer is yes, it's pretty much closed.

Private forum owners are under no obligation to let someone in their forum. It's like knocking on a stranger's door - they may let you in, but most times they won't.

I just learned how this worked about 3 weeks ago, when hborrow invited me to her forum. Pretty cool things I must say !

Go to User CP... on the left hand side at the bottom you should see group memberships... i think... anyway if you see it under miscellaneous on the left hand side... click on it and a list of private forums comes up.... then you can request permission to join them...
