Check engine light came on and has two codes. P1870 which is transmission related. The information I get is it is related to the Torque Converter Clutch slipping. I may need to install a control valve body with revised TCC regulator and isolator valves. Has anyone done this before them self or if they took it to the dealer, how much does it cost to have them do it?

97 suburban k1500. I can buy the control valve for 310. The list price is 544.75 just for the part.

Here's some info that may help. It looks like P1870 covers a lot of faults.

I can't believe I did that. Copy doesn't do much good without paste.

How true. The dealer said to diagnose the problem it will cost $200 bucks.

The manufactureres pretty much have us backed into a corner. My truck's ASB module pooped out and with me doing all the work installing the $467 part, the dealer still had to flash the new module for $200.
