That is the two smilie critique.
I think it's chill factor is much higher than Doom's, Half-Life's, or any of the others. SloMode is interesting and the visions are just :yikes: -- nothing like trying to worry about the physical bad guys while you keep getting visions of "walkers", "the girl :yikes:", or other stuff happening around you. It adds to the tension of the game. I suggest putting on a great set of headphones, turning the volume up, and getting lost in the environment. It is especially great at night.
Oh yeah, the Director's Cut is only $5 more and has a neat little Machinima of the game plus some other stuff. The main benefit to the Director's Cut is it comes on 1 DVD instead of multiple CD's.
