I just got a new computer about a month ago, and I can't get my microphone to work. I have been trying to use it with Yahoo Messenger so I can chat w/ my sister who lives out of state, but it wouldn't work. I tried using Sound Recorder on the computer, and it would work for that. I thought it might just be a cheap mic, so I bought another, and now neither one will work with Yahoo OR sound recorder. I have tried plugging them into both the front hook up and the back hook up. Does anyone have any troubleshooting advice for me? I can't find help from sound recorder or yahoo. Thanks!

I can't get my microphone to work.
Did you test your Microphone via you Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices/Voice/Test Hardware?

Mine works, but it's always sounded like I was talking from a tin box... I don't even bother with it any more...:ohwell:

So you say you tried it in the front plug in and the back plug in:confused:
is this a kinky sex toy you are talking about
Check this
Start>Control Panel>Sounds and audio devices.
The select the audio tab and make sure under sound recording your soundcard is selected.
The select Voice tab and make sure the sound card is selected in there also, it will also give you an option to test the hardware when you set it up.
