View Full Version : Wireless headsets
I am sure I am not the only person who notices these Borg looking mostrocities clamped to peoples ears. I suspect it is a Blue tooth type wireless headset or something. The oval shaped deal with a short boom mike.
Now I can fully understand using it if in a work environment that is a high phone use occupation but walking around Wawa and out at the grocery store? I could see if you were on the phone and needed to be mobile but to wear it like jewlery when not in use?
Have we become the Borg? What is the need to be so "in touch" that the headset is worn like any other accesory like a watch?

I agree...I've even called one of my coworkers "Howard of Borg". I have a bluetooth headset, but I only have it for when I'm driving. I'd feel stupid wearing it around all the time.

My favorite customer wore one of those constantly when he first got it....until I called him Madonna. We see less of it now.

And people who constantly have a cellphone to their ear. They're sitting in a restaurant, completely ignoring their companion and yakkety yakking on the phone. Walking down the street - yak yak yak. In the restroom at the Target - yak yak yak.
It's like their pathetic lives are so boring and unimportant that they can't even buy a can of peas without calling someone. My mother does this and so does my daughter - yak yak yak.

Standing in line at Shoppers and the person in front of you is having a full blown insignificant conversation out loud.
:blahblah:
I think it should be legal to slap it right off their punkin.

Not to mention that they look like freaks when they're wireless and it just looks like they're walking along talking to themselves.

A friend & I were just talking about this yesterday morning. He was on a date this past weekend (formal dinner/holiday party) and the woman sat at the table continuing to text message with someone. They are no longer together, he was infuriated by it and found it completely rude and childish.

Yeah no kidding.
I am always amazed on airplanes, the mad dive for the cell phone when the flight attendant says over the intercom "It is OK now to use portable electronic devises".
then they all have to power up and call and then talk REALLY loud over the aircraft noise and everyone else talking too.
The conversation typically goes like this:
"Yea, I am here. I dunno still on the plane but it looks warm. Uh? Huh? Oh, I dunno we are not at the gate yet. Huh? Huh? Oh, pretzels, you know the little bag with about 6 weird shaped pretzels. What? Oh I had Pepsi, sometimes I get tomato juice because I like tomato juice but never think to buy it, but every time I fly I see it and think "Hey I like tomato juice, I'll get that". Huh? What? No but I did read the catalog in the seat pocket in front of me. I wonder who orders that junk."

I think it should be legal to slap it right off their punkin.Had a similar experience in the checkout line at Walmart. Some lady in front of me carrying on a conversation on her cell phone and the checkout girl waiting to get paid. I guess I interrrupted her phone call when I said, "hey lady, how about getting off the xxxxxxx phone and getting your xxxx outta here." I'm not normally that rude, but it was a bad day.
