All of us have gotten the call from some timeshare scheme-offering a weekend somewhere if we listen to their two hour speel.

Some of you may have actually won a vacation somewhere.
So this is slightly hinged with what Lusbymom posted.

...If you won a free weekend: travel, hotels, entertainment--what location would make you so NO THANKS?

Consider poll...(You can make multiple choices....)

All of them.

Branson, Mo. I don't want to go to a place that is nothing but country/bluegrass music :dead:

All of them.

I would decline Branson. I always remember "older folks" mentioning that they were going to Branson. I could be totally offbase but I just associate Branson with country music and old folks.
Caveat: Not that theres anything wrong with that - it just doesn't appeal to me at this time

The only one I would consider would be New Orleans.

I won't fly, so I would have to get a gas voucher (the calls I've received require you to provide the transportation...are they so desperate now they pay for travel?) I'll listen to the two hour spiel, thank them, and say goodbye.

I've been everywhere else.

I'd skip Branson, LA, Chicago, Boston and San Fransisco.

On second thought, I'd go to LA. :ohwell: One word: Irwindale! :yahoo:

Oh, and Pomona.

My parents went there about 5 years ago. They were in there late 50's and they said they were the youngest ones there.

I wouldn't turn any of them down. I love to travel and am sure I could find something to do in any of those places especially since it's FREE. Branson is the only iffy one and I'd drag Vrai there with me.

New Orleans...Chocolate city?...what is that funny smell?

Miami?...No Habla Espaniol...(Sme with LA.)

San Fran?...cousins went: LOVED it!,..during Halloween. I told them they weren't costumes: they wear that year round.

New York...I'd like the museums...Ellis Island perhaps...Intrepid ...but-horrified over trying to find parking and ...general filth (lots of memories from the 1970's)

Quebec...I'd go--lots of great history, natural "air conditioning" in summer. I better take a crash course in French though.

Branson...um,...restaurants would be my only draw. Who needs to see Slim Whitman's guitar?

...NYC is way better than in the 70's.

Manhattan is clean and nice.

I would travel to any of those places and I'd have no problem telling the people "No, thanks!" when asked to purchase a timeshare.
