I went there last night to try it out. I had the seafood chowder and my husband had the halibut. Three words: FAB-U-LOUS. The food could not possibly have been better. The bar looks like it would be a perfect place for happy hours or have a drink before dinner - which we did. I think it's been open only a week and we expected some hiccups - but we didn't see any. They hired a nice people, very professional but also genuinely kind - they really seemed to care if we actually liked 'the whole experience.' We also expected to street park, but they have their own parking - pleasant unexpected bonus.
From 1 -5: Food/5, Service/5, Venue/5. It's nice to have a such a great place nearby. Thank you, Corbels!

They didn't post prices on their website. What did hubby's halibut meal cost?

We'll certainly have to do this... for the pure halibut...

I think the Halibut was around $23. It was the 'fish of the day'. The chowder was $19-ish, packed with great seafood. I couldn't finish it.

I don't go out for seafood much. This thread is the first I have heard of this place. Where is it? I just might try something different than pizza or subs this weekend.

R and I gave it a go for our anniversary dinner last night. The grilled asparagus appetizer was superb! Tasso ham and mushrooms with a rosemary biscuit...I could have just kept ordering that all night! R had the fresh mozzarella app, which was also wonderful. The shrimp and grits dinner was so good, LOVED the cheesy grit cake, and R's filet was perfect! On a down note, our service was HORRIBLE! Looked like all the other girls were doing a great job, but we got shafted. No bread, had to ask twice, NEVER came back to check on our meals, didn't offer more coffee...on and on, very disappointing. The place is just lovely and we had a great evening, but for $110 with tip and NO alcohol, the service should be excellent.

Happy Anniversary....:buddies:

We went there this weekend for dinner. As good as the food was, the service was that BAD!

A middle-aged blonde lady was our waitress. And she seemed like she just had one more table than she could reasonably handle. We must have waited for 10 minutes before she even realized we were seated at her table. Then long delays. We never got bread. She left empty drinks and then forgot to bring a drink we ordered.

Even though the poor service was ultimately her fault, to me it is management's failure to adequately staff their restaurant. The food was great. But if they don't hire at least one more waitress on busy nights, Mr Beck will be looking for someone new to occupy his fancy building.

Yumtastic!!!

Went there for a lunch date today and it was excellent!!!

I had:
Breton Bay - Marinated and Grilled Chicken breast, Oven Dried Tomato, Fresh Mozzarella, Basil Pesto on Ciabbata, Fries - 9.25 w/ a cup of clam chowder... which was delish

my lunch date had:
Spicy Chicken Pasta - w/ chicken, andouille sausage, yellow & red peppers w/ linguine tossed in a spicy tomato cream sauce - 14.50

I must say that his entree was phenomenal!! I will definitely be ordering that the next time I go.

We shared the chocolata banana mousse cake for dessert and it was sensational!!! I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We go there at least once a week. The staff couldn't be sweeter or nicer, the food is great and well priced. If it's possible to fall in love with food, I think I'm in love with the prosciutto mozzarella appetizer and the bistro mussels...

I thought it was a little on the pricey side myself I think it was close to $40 for lunch for 2

Yes it is fancy... I actually felt a little under dressed myself when I went seeing as there was a table of men in suits and ties.

I'm anxious to try something upscale in Southern Maryland!!! No offense to anyone on here but....it's about time they have a restaurant that has good food and you wear something besides jeans and a t-shirt/sweatshirt.

I went there wearing a jacket and tie and did not feel out of place.
I went there wearing a dress button down shirt this summer and did not feel out of place.

If you went there wearing jeans and a T-shirt you should feel out of place, but they are very nice and would probably seat you anyway if you had a reservation.

The last paragraph was supposed to be :sarcasm:

Well, no, if the place is the type that "should" be a dress shirt, sport coat, tie, or dress slacks, pantsuit, skirt, I would feel underdressed showing up in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Were not talking crabs and beer by the water. You would be surprised how many people show up to places of that sort in jeans and a t-shirt.

Yeah, I have too on occasion, and it is just disrespectful. I have issues with people like that. They just have the :1bdz: attitude about everything.

Maybe in the circles that you travel in. Oh was that supposed to be a joke?

Was mostly a joke and slight truth as I just tried Lenny's after the new remodel (which is fabulous) and half the patrons were in the the traditional So MD garb of NASCAR t shirts, jeans and Skol hats. I grew up here and hated being surrounded by SMIBS so I left asap and have been living in FL for the last 15 years or so.

Just came back recently to see only a little has changed. I noticed some indicators of a slight shift upward in demographics but "sothn marrrylnd" is still alive and well. lol

If you know of circles here that appreciate wine/port, cigars, scotch and the likes, please let me know because I have yet to find them. :)

Although Rob at Blue Wind is very cool and so is his place.

I was at a recent wine tasting in Leonardtown and one gentleman actually proudly and sincerely mentioned his preference for "Boones Farm" over the wines being tasted.....????????????????

My wife and I went there.

Food was excellent.

The service was outstanding.

We had an appetizer, soup, salad, main course, and dessert. Our server always stopped by to make sure that we were enjoying our meal. She made sure that our glasses were always full etc.

For the evening the bill ran $150 including tip. A little pricey, but the food and service more than made up for the price.

My wife and I found a new place to eat and is going on our short list.

I highly recommend this place.

We had an surprise birthday party for my grandmother there a few weeks ago and it was wonderful!!! We had about 40 people in the large upstairs room, buffet style food, two or three servers and everything was great! Wonderful food, great service, grandmas 80th birthday party went off without a hitch! I would definitely give them a try for a nice sit down dinner.
