I see they've been remodeling the old Tailgate's bar in White Plains for about 2 months now, and this morning have a "Now Hiring" sign out front. Anybody know what it's gonna be? I work up the street and hope it's a decent lunch spot.

Well, hopefully this is a winner. If you look at the restaurant turnover in White Plains over the last 20 years, it's been pretty dramatic. And since Subway moved out of the Pomfret Mall (Shell), and Willets removed their deli, lunch options have been slim pickins. I can't count how many times Lee's Chinese restaurant, back in the day, has changed hands. And, right now it's vacant.
With the growth in office space, we could really use a good lunch spot, deli, or fast food place (and not Chinese - if you want good Chinese food, Szechuan Gardens is the best game in town). I can only take so much of Wawa. We need more variety.

There's actually a really good Thai place in Waldorf near the mall. It's in the small shopping area across where Bennigans used to be. I love that place!!!!

30ish of went for a birthday party- all in the 30's at least.
Good food, good service, good prices...
I'll be back- little bit pricer than say an Outback but food was a bit better as well.
Examples:
$3 bottles- Coors Light for me. Not sure if on happy hour or what- I order what I want to drink
$4 draft micro-brews
$23 16oz KC strip bone-in with awesome flavor and cooked per instructions (med) served with veg of the day and another side (mac & cheese for me which was awesome).
Only complaint was place smelled like paint- new place so that will wear off.
Will be in the top 3 I toss out depending on what cuisine we are deciding to eat.

Well you couldn't expect a bar with toilet bowls at the door to not tank after awhile though I know a killer burger joint in Amarillo with toilets for planters at the front door and the place is :yahoo:. But of course we aren't in Amarillo so :coffee:

Heading there again tonight...
I'm not a regular poster here but am on a ton of other boards. That being said- I don't have any thing to do with this establishment. Just wanted to clarify since 2 out of 3 of my post were about it- know how that looks.

No wait but the place was really busy. We had 4, table for 6 would have been about a 15 minute wait I would guess. Glad they are doing well!
Fruit/nut salad was so-so; says mixed greens but was almost all spinach and waitress tried to explain that is the way it comes. She did say she would take it back or do whatever she could do to make it right(+1 on service right there).
Raw oysters were awesome- had to ask for crackers and horse radish but whatever- no biggie.
Seared Tuna was great.
Ribeye steak cooked rare-med rare came out well done. Sent back and awesome rare steak came out (not mine; I was jealous). I've sent back maybe 5 meals in the last 20+ years but $25 for a hunk of meat that was 4-5 levels overcooked I would have as well.
I had the Strip- cooked perfect and was ok cut of meat/not memorable.
Free desert for all 4 of us for our "troubles". Way more than I expected (which I expected nothing and not the type to b1tch- only reason I sound critical is because I am reviewing some thing). Above and beyond offer there!
$208 for 4 of us with 1-2 drinks each + tip so little pricey for the area but I'll be back. If living in LaPlata I'd say steaks were better than Outback, about as good as Texas Roadhouse and on par with Lorado's. Appetizers were better than all of them.

Pricey, but excellent.
I though it was fine. I got the crab balls and a steak. I could have gotten the same steak @ Lonestar for 1/2 the price. The crab balls were yummy though and the wine list was pretty good.

I've been quite a few times- worth checking out IHMO without a doubt.
Budget will have more influence on most people returning or not more than food quality or quantity.

Last visit- not so good.
Fair new edition crab dip was good; not great.
Steak- poor to average on quality and prep. Disappointed.
2 people and only 4 other tables full of people in the place so no excuse for not having a good meal. I would have had a better meal at Outback for $50 savings (late lunch for 2 was $80).
