Fable 2 should be released for the PC as well....Im quite mad it won't be. Peter Molyneux is an absolutely amazing person for having the ingenuity to create such a diverse storyline, allowing each person form their own fate. And, have NPC AI able to recognize the changes developing within the character and react accordingly. Fable was a great game. Almost to the point where I'm considering buying a 360 to be able to play Fable 2.
Fallout 3, of course. I actually had 7 copies coming to me. It's illegal in Australia so I was gonna ship some copies to my friend there. And get this....its BANNED because of the use of.....MORPHINE. Morphine! Because apparently showing the main character inject morphine to be able to have a short burst of energy/pain killers was "too realistic and promoted drug use." Bethesda replaced the name of the drug to a made up name and Australia is now allowing it. Talk about carebears....And fun note, Bethesda, the creators of Fallout and Elder Scrolls were orginally based out of...Bethesda, MD.
Farcry 2......omg omg omg omg omg omg. Farcry was amazing! I -loved- the idea of "explore any where you want". Which is why I am so into MMOs and games like zelda. Truly one of the first break through games of the FPS genre, I can't wait for Farcry to come out. And with its engine available for editting, you know the modding world will come up with millions of addons and different levels, guns, monsters, etc. within a few days of release. Granted....I must admit I never actually beat Farcry on the highest difficulty. The sphere room with all the monsters made it impossible without cheats.
Not really into the NfS series. PoP won't be on my immediate "to get" list. I enjoyed....Two sands? (iirc) but meh, I like me my zelda.

looking forward to Monster Hunter 3, Sin and Punishment 2, Mad World, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Rune Factory Frontier, Oboro Muramasa, Dokapon Kingdom, House of the Dead: Overkill, The Conduit and Shiren 3
I wish I had a bigger wallet.
Fortunatly, most of those games are early next year, so I still have some time.

we've played so much DoD source

Bad.
Did I ever give you our vent info?

Aye, although I more than likely have lost it.
CS:Source is fun, I was fairly decent at it awhile back, but haven't played it much. It came packaged with HL2, and I prefered HL2: deathmatch much more. I'm more of a sniper and most of the CS:S was too close for me to enjoy.

Fable 2 for certain...and probably Fallout 3. I still have some of last years big releases I never finished (Assassin's Creed and BioShock) that I need to re-start and get through.

I'm not sure about the new call of duty. It isn't being made by the same company that made CoD 4. I think it is being made by the company that made CoD3.
I just wish they would have stayed in the modern age with the new weapons instead of the outdated WW2 stuff.

well, considering the 360 has (at least...maybe a newer one even) 3 different DVD drives they used, it might be a little difficult to make a "default" driver patch

If you DO play on XBL though, I know you're taking a chance. Pretty sure you're right that they completely block you out if they detect a mod, but I find it hard to believe you can't at least get patches (or downloadable content even, because that is getting them money so why would they ban you from that?)

Let me clear up a few things about hardware modding of the 360.
Most modding is done by a dvd firmware flash
If done correctly it is undetectable by MS and you can play on live you can even play burned games on live
MS has changed the dvd drive on all 360's made after April 2008 to a read only flash.
the new flash can not have the firmware updated. This dvd drive currently can;t be modded
If you have the new 360 you can install the dvd drive from an older 360 or buy one online for 30 bucks.
Then you simply install the hex key from your original drive to clone the new dvd player and you can update to the modded firmware.

Anyway, I've got both LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2, Fall Of Man, reserved. Still tons of other games I want to try, like Bioshock, and I'm intrigued by the NFS, game, they havent had one that I've liked ffor a while, since Hot Pursuit, really.
I dont need wings and body kits, I just wanna drive like a demon:)
And before anyone gives me hell, no, I dont download music unless its paid for, and I dont get copies of other stuff. $200 for the nav update disc for my car is ridiculous, and I coud get burnt copies for almost nothing, or make them myself, but I wont.

Like I said you can download games and burn them for about 1.50 each. Even if you don't own the game.
If you keep a backup of a game for less than 24 hours you are not breaking any laws. In order for you to be considered a pirate you need to be in possession of the illegally burned game for more than 24 hours.
I cannot quote the exact law but there is a law that protects consumers under the guidelines of demonstrative purposes when it comes to possession of downloaded/backup software..

Of course you cant, other than having the real disc, not a burned one. Thats a great start. Still possible that I took them from a store, say, but much less likely. Thats "real theft", you see. I'm curious, how many people who use "backups" have kids, or kids who might learn from them, say nephews or nieces. How do you explain this to them?
People are much less willing to really steal than do it virtually. Me, I usually download a demo to try something out, or maybe rent it. I dont do any PC gaming, so I'm not up to speed on how prevalent demos are in the PC arena

Recurringly billed games usually have a 7 or 10 day trial, and some games have a "demo" level to play, but more often then not, legal demo's are hard to come by. A lot of games are getting much harder to pirate though, with online registration or a limited number of times a key will work.
Which, altogether sucks....not only for pirates, but also for people that genuinely BUY games. Limiting the number of times a keycode will work really really limits the shelf life of a game, as if you reformat your HDD that the game is on, you need to re-register the game.
If you want to see the outcry that happens when companies DO limit the number of times a keycode can be used, just google "Spore DRM"
