This link has the XMAS style pictures that we'll be doing at Pepper's on the 23rd...you can also order Christmas cards of your favorite pic for the holidays! (I think the XMAS card quantities come in a box of 20 cards, 50 or 100...something like that...reasonably priced too.)

You don't have a separate room for the pictures, do you? I have a feeling it's going to be hard to keep the dogs focused with all the dogs that will be waiting.

Although there is a lot of room in the store, I think the distraction factor is a huge consideration. I do have a storage room in the back that I am emptying and preparing for the day.

I also have cat living back there that I have to get into a kitty condo and move to the other storage room....Oh, INKPEN.....where are you????

We trapped her behind the store (along with some very feral cats) when we were trapping raccoons (whole 'nother story). I believe she was dumped and was around humans at one time. I have not tried to handle her as she has had no vetting. YET.

Family members are welcome to join in however these are not "family portraits". The idea is to have your pets photographed with a holiday background.
I have received a few inquiries regarding this and am discouraging people from bringing the whole clan to join in. At the Furry Friends Fall Festival, there were a couple of people photographed with their pets but it was not the norm.
Please remember that this benefits Second Hope Rescue and that everyone there is volunteering their time and energy. Also, that the photographers are donating their time AND materials to the organization.

Special thanks to Inkpen, (who is also a great photographer) for helping me with the kitty. She is now resting peacefully in her kitty condo. I
will be working with her though I don't think it will be too hard to socialize her as she already likes being petted and was calm enough to let me trim her nails!
I am thinking about called her "Shy-anne"

I love the new name!!!!! She is a beautiful cat that should tame down very well.
I have never had such a tame cat in my nets before!! She even let you trim her nails while netted!
She was not as happy being netted, but it was the only choice we had.

See you both tomorrow!!!!!!:yahoo:

PM me and let me know when you'll be there. I think I may just go over and take Yoda. Rassie can't handle the stress. However, I'd like you to look at her tummy, so I could leave her in the car. She won't crap in the car.

I have a family obligation at 1 pm in Ches. Beach, but we're gonna shoot to be down there around 11:30. I just hope they cooperate. The Boxers will be okay, I think, but I'm bringing my old labby/hound. He's deaf and doesn't see well but he's a good boy.

Rassie gets incredibly nervous and will crap on the floor and I will :barf: if I have to clean it up. She can't handle ANY commotion. Yoda, on the other hand, will be a clown and I can bring the boy and he can clean up any issues.

I have it on my little notepad so I'll try to be there at 11:30. It would be fun to have them all in a pic. Rass will be in the car unless you are willing to pick up her poop. And I'll have to Xanex her, which I HATE to do.

I'm just gonna throw this out there....

I visit with some friends in NY who have a very exuberant dog also. When we all go for a walk, he's just nutz, and barfs if he has any drinks when he gets home.

If I get there when no one is home, I take the pup for a walk. It's very different. He becomes very passive, reserved, I guess he's just not sure about the whole thing. Mommy and daddy aren't there. He just kinda looks at me like "aren't we going home yet? Where's mom and dad?" He absolutely trusts me, it's just different.

Ok, so the point is: would Rassie be the same if someone other than you or DR took her and handled her before the pics ? Not offering necessarily, just asking.

If Rassie poops on the floor- be assured it will not be the 1st time it has been done in the store- nor will it be the last! We have plenty of paper towels and a mop handy! :lmao:

She would be terrified if we handed her over to someone else. I don't know if it's just her personality or something happened to her in her life previous to when we got her, or if it had something to do with living with the same family for 8 years and being dumped at a shelter. She doesn't handle any kind of stress well at all. Yoda, on the other hand, is exhuberant wherever he goes.

I know I'll be up late tonight printing out the 4x6 prints.

Big thanks to Phyxius and QuarterMom for giving up your day to come out and play with pictures. QuarterMom, thanks so much for all your help with setting up and being the squeaker peep! Phyx, you took some wonderful pictures as always! :huggy: to both of you!!!

Although we had to wait for over 2 hours, it was worth it when I saw the elaborate Christmas setup used for the pictures. I can't wait to see Cody's print! I know it'll be great on the ornaments I make up for Cody's friends at the nursing home.

Thanks also to the people with big dogs for keeping them away from Cody so he didn't go ballistic. I wish I could figure out how to keep him from getting hysterical with big dogs that aren't acting agressively.

A HUGE thanks to our photographers for all of their work yesterday...I know they have gotta be tired...it was a never ending line, not much time at all (if any) to take a break, your hard work is sincerely appreciated and we are forever indebted to your graciousness!
Thanks to Frequent Flier for letting us hang out all day and use her shop for pics!
Thanks to all the customers for being patient and waiting for their photo shoot - I'm sure all of the pics turned out wonderfully.

If we ever do this again, we'll have to find a way to streamline the process/wait time...thanks for your patience. Hope you had a chance to browse the store, FF has some cute items in there, as well as some awesome smelling candles, treats, purses, etc.

Loper had to go home and print off the pictures. :jameo:

Events like this make me "high" for a long time. Second Hope has over 60 dogs in foster homes and many cats as well. This event will help them tremendously with vetting costs and all the other expenses involved in trying to re-home these animals. They also had a couple of possible adoptions yesterday.
All the local rescue groups work so hard. I admire everyone's dedication and energy.
Nice meeting you, Catt!

They also did an article earlier in the week (the southern MD edition comes out 2X week) about the Feral Cat Rescue. FCR is trying to educate people about the staggering numbers of feral cats AND the numbers of cats euthanized every month at Tri county.
I had a lady interested in adopting a cat yesterday but does not believe in spay/neuter. "It doesn't seem natural to do that" :smack: "When my kids were growing up, we always found homes for the kittens that the female cats had"
I tried talking to her...finally figured it was a total waste of my time and my breath. I am grateful she did not come in on Sat when the Feral Cat rescue had 29 adoptable cats and kittens up for adoption. They would have been 100X more frustrated than I was.
I think there would have been a few claws out!

I can't locate anything with a quick search. I may know somebody who has a copy. If so, I'll drop it down.
