Personally, I have never done it. I'm thinking if you bleached the design you may cause the fibers to break down and then it would fall apart in that area. I would stick with the dye.

It's so dark, dye won't do. I can get some dye remover, but I'm wondering what tool I'de use to apply the design.

sometimes my smart works good :yay:
Gel bleach would most likely work, I guess you could use some type of paint brush. Are you going to free hand draw the design or use a stencil? I still think if you use bleach you may cause damage and make the fibers weak. I have spilled bleach on towels and after a few washes they will get a hole where the bleach was. Good luck, would like to see how it turns out if you are able to figure it out.

I'm just brain storming.. I may try both the dye remover and bleach pen on an inconspicuous area before tackling the major part.

Get a small piece of left over carpet from a friend or carpet store and experiment first.

Hmm. I wonder if a carpet store would give me half a dozen samples to try out some designs...I want a batik look and someone else may like it too.
