Since I'm technologically retarded...
1) What is the "digital copy" for?
2) Why do Blu Ray movies still come with multiple discs since they are supposed to have shiiteloads of storage?
TIA

P.S. Do I get a prize for my 2500th post?
Something low-tech maybe?

Digital Copy lets you make a copy of the movie for playback on a PC, iPod, etc.... all licensed.
You get 2 disks for DVD because one disk won't hold it all. When you get a BluRay, not only does it hold more, but the movie is of such high definition (4-8 Gb on a DVD vs 25-50 Gb on a BluRay) you STILL need two disks to provide the same content as two DVD disks.

Ok, well my PC sucks (no burner), and I don't have an IPOD... so is it my new fancy schmancy coaster?
And on the GB thing, so what yo're saying is even though the BLU RAY holds more, it still has to have extra discs because they are that much more awesome the regular DVD's?? :yay:
Thanks dude :buddies:

Cool, thanks! Can't wait to watch it. Made myself not watch it at theater because I wanted to check it out on my brand new big ass TV with my kickin surround.

Movies are so much better at home than the theaters today.

Van, thanks for surfacing this, I meant to address the whole digital copy thing a few days ago, but lost the thread.
Anyway. The Blu-Ray could hold the digital copy in addition to the 1080p copy, there's 24 gigs of space on that disc. The digital copy only takes up about 1 gig. But, and heres the key. Most folks dont have Blu-Ray drives in their computers, and so, putting the extra (standard def) copy on the Blu-ray would lock a lot of folks out of the benefit of the digital copy.
Your computer doesnt have be too hot to copy the movie to your portable device, but might to play it.

Correct. I just put a BluRay drive in my PC. I can read BluRay disks, but don't have the CPU speed, memory or video card support to play a BluRay movie.
