Been reading the movie was #1 this weekend but reviews suggest its a Bomb. What say you?

Another case of 'did not need remaking' probably.

You know how remakes are - some people will expect almost the exact same movie anew; kind of tough when the original was so low-tech and this one sports the latest graphics, etc. So I wonder if the reviews are written on that basis or if they were truly objective. The trailer looked interesting enough to me... to watch the first 15 minutes at least. :lol:

Actually I am going to go see it next weekend. I remember seeing the black and white one back in the day but I dont remember it now.

Was a disappointment.

A couple good scenes, but overall a fairly dull and pointless film. Why was Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind, Blood Diamond) in this? A great paycheck, I s'pose. She certainly didn't have to challenge herself as an actress here.
