Try mixing 50% grapefruit juice, 50% EVOO and 50% tepid water.

:drunkenstupidquestionalert: You used oil paint? :/drunkenstupidquestionalert:

If you used latex paint, soaking in water will loosen the paint at a later date. I think you can soak brushes with oil paint later and resurrect the brushes...

My pop taught me this trick:
Wrap in plastic wrap to seal out air and place in the freezer.
When you can, clean as usual with turpentine.

No - no drunken stupid question alert needed, I'm just painting something  its a hobby, and I have no turpintine to clean brushes... soap and water doesn't cut it... what is this "oil paint later" you are referring to? Why would I soak my brushes in oil paint if I'm trying to clean them  Oh never mind, this must be :drunkenreplyalert: :stupid:

Hey now, I was just looking for a name I recognized. Doing a search for "When Harry met Sally New Years Eve song" didn't work.

If you are using oil based paint, you can soak the brushes in transmission fluid until you are ready to clean them as long as the paint is still wet.

Gasoline will work also in cleaning the brushes. Recommend doing it outside away from a source of fire. Same goes for cleaning with turpentine. In the future, be better prepared for your little projects.
