Just opened in Mechanicsville right next door to Wonder Bread Outlet.

It was actually pretty good (Not as good as Salsa's or La Tol Teca) but good. I had the lunch special chicken tacos rice & beans. The portions are HUGE! So I have the other half of my lunch for today.

They also have the white salsa stuff with the chips and salsa. Very good. So far that is all I have tried from there.

They are wonderful. I just met her for the first time Monday when myself and family went in to eat. I am so excited for him and so happy for the both of them. I wish them much success. It was a steady stream of people in and out while we ate in. I was pleasantly surprised to have the chips/salsa and a server considering it's being advertised as a carry out. In response to it not being as good as other places, well I think it was wonderful (ditto on portions being huge) and you will get better personalized service there. He'll see to that.... if you haven't been go check them out and spread the word. :yahoo:

We've been wanting to try Fiesta Cafe out so I stopped in on my way home from work tonight and got the Fiesta Pollo and Fiesta Steak ... also came with chips , salsa and the white sauce that I would love to figure out the recipe for ... everything was great, prices are very reasonable esp since the portions are generous , fast service too ... I'm very happy to have a great little place to pick up dinner when we are in the mood for something Mexican on the way home ... hope everyone gives this place some business so they succeed

I think Ill try this place this evening, was going to go to Ledo's, maybe this will be a pleasant change. The combination platters are catching my eye. My DW and I have mentioned trying it.

What's in these two? Is the pollo chicken with spinach?

The Fiesta Pollo ( chicken ) has red peppers and squash served with rice , the rice had a cheese sauce on it ... delish ... I actually liked the Pollo a wee bit better than the Fiesta Steak ... but both were tasty ... and I just remembered we still have the homemade Flan in the refrigerator cause we were too full from dinner last night .... I know whats for dessert tonight

Had a very enjoyable dinner tonight, had the combination platter, was very good, beef burito, beef enchiladia and the beef thing that starts with a Q, was very good, Im not a big Mexican food person but it was quite good. Closer then driving to the Mexican restaurant in Waldorf or LaPlata, and was just as good..:yay:

I had Fiesta Cafe for dinner tonight. We each had a combo dinner. They were really good. My only complaint is that the quesadilla's were wrapped in foil which made them soggy. I guess they were hot and then wrapped in the foil which basically steamed them.

Fiesta Cafe is me and my boyfriends favorite place to eat!!!! MUCH better than McDonalds or Wendys :ohwell: We eat there at least once a week.. lol Love the people that work there.. extremely friendly and service is soooo fast. They're doing a customer survey now.. not sure how long it will be out but they are looking at opening on Sundays and are asking what people think. I would LOVE for them to open on Sundays.. seems I want them more when they're not open.. haha

Definitely worth the money.
I'd recommend it to anyone :]

Same thing for the hard taco. It was a soft taco by the time I got it home.

We went for their opening day. Had to - the owners are close friends of ours!!! Of course, we could scarcely talk to them because they were so busy (good thing!), but they were happy to see us. We enjoyed the food - I had a delicious combo platter. Service was superb, decor is bright and cheerful and authentic Mexican. Too bad we live so far away, can't get up there too often.

I guess I'm the only one that wasn't impressed by this place. Food was just so-so. Waiter could barely speak english. Atmosphere sucked. It did not feel like I was sitting in a mexican restaurant. :boo:

1) it is a mexican restaurant so he is probably going to speak spanish

2) most restaurants that i have been too in san diego & mexico dont look like the ones around here  The ones around here are too frilly w/ way to much going on.... they just didnt look like that out there

I thought the food was pretty good. Not up to par w/ Salsa or La tol Teca though. And those are the closest to good mexican food... the kind you get in Rosarito TJ & Baja :yum:

1) They should be able to speak english if they are working in our country.
2) My date felt the same I did about the food. I read the reviews on here and was expecting good food. :ohwell:

What did you get?

Honest to goodness the decor at places in san diego, tj, rosarita etc... is very minimal... although they do have one thing that Fiesta doesnt... a salsa bar w/ different types of salsa, pickeled carrots, jalapenos, cilantro, lemons & limes, etc... I love love loved that :yum:

The ribeye steak torta is NOT worth the $7.80 they charge you. You get a thin ribeye on a 4" roll with the beans, cheese, tomato, mayo & avacado. Very small sandwich. Should have receive 2 for that price.

Their combo platters are :yum: though.

I had that too. I don't think the price is too bad for a steak sandwich, it's comparable with the rest of the locals on a similar item.

Other observations: was really expecting it to be more of a restaurant, rather than the carry-out that it appears to be. NO BEER. They don't have a liquor license yet apparently. And no ICE. They don't have an ice machine yet either. Other than those things, it was Okay.

I hadn't been here in a while, what a pleasant surprise, they must be doing quite well.
They now have seating for maybe about 30-35, have added more tables and some nice wooden booths, prices seem to be the same as when they opened.
Im not one who tries too many new different Mexican dishes, I get the combination platter, and I enjoyed my choices.
Son and daughter-in-law frequent the Mexico Resturant in Waldorf and the Mexico place in LaPlata alot, but they say Fiesta Cafe has them beat, prices are about the same, but they say the portions are bigger and they say they will come back to Fiesta instead of up the road.
If you like Mexican food I think you should try this place.

Oh they no longer give you your beverage in a bottle, drinks are served in glasses wiith refills, at least on the ice tea. Im not a real big alcoholic drinker but I think they do have their liquor license now.
